i don't think he does...the guy is a season away from retiring. Like slyder said, this is just him trying to stay in the NBA. He has a proven track record, and is already a HOF'er. Anything else that he does as a coach is just a cherry, it just makes him look better as a coach.

For his legacy, i dont think he needs to win in NY. But there are some issues with this situation. When i was watching ESPN News he didnt really say he wanted the job, refering it to plan B. 2nd of all, in a city that wants to win and win now. How will the media treat him when this bunch of overrated players takes the floor and say finishes with 34-37 wins this season. Its worse than the project that Phil Jackson had to take over. Can his health handle this pressure? Ive mentioned this earlier in the month and its still a concern.

I also don't think he does... Does the guy really have to prove anythings else?

As already said, the guy has shown in his career that he is a winner and is a HOF'er. IMO if he is a winner in NY, more props to him. If he is a loser, so what?

    Buy or Sell

    Buy now, Sell later:

First off, the Giambino. After struggling to start the season, the Terminator is hitting a healthy .400 with 10 HRs and 18 RBIs. Buy or sell Giambi redeeming himself this season, Cincy.

    Buy...

Giambi has turned around his season big time the last couple of weeks. He is on fire right now and currently is one of the hottest players in baseball right now. Not to mention the Yanks really need his bat.

Whether or not Giambi is now using the nondetected steriods is another topic.

    Sell

Giambi has hit .303 in june, .266 in july, .215 in august, and .289 in september. he's too streaky. very inconsistant.

    I will give him the .280 AVG Post-ASB to a .250 Pre-ASB average.

    He's having a great june...

Sell- This reminds me too much of what Tino Martinez did earlier this season. I would like to see this for a more sustained period of time. While hes finally out of the funk hes in. I would like to see if he can sustain this for more than just JULY.
