I gotta agree the Braves have managed to survive the slew of injuries as mentioned before plus they have arguably the best coach in the Majors managing that team right now and also have one of the best GMs who keep giving the Braves enough to win and Cox just goes out there and makes it happen. Braves win, and thats not even including if they go out there and get anyone at teh deadline.... which they will.

Bobby Cox can't manage in the playoffs, unfortunately. Point to Zito, although barely.

Tim Brown recently signed a one-day contract with the Raiders to retire as a member of the Raider Nation Sensation. He is arguably the best receiver the great Raiders franchise has ever had. On the other hand, Raffy Palmeiro has recently picked up his 3000th hit, and is a sure bet to reach 600 HRs as well. So, if you had to pick one of them to go to their HOF and the other to be shunned, who would go and who would be denied? Around the Horn to Slyder.

It has to be Raffy, as much as I hate to say it. Tim Brown WAS the Raiders from his rookie year on until he finally ran out of gas. He finishes his career among elite company with 100 tds, He went from 1993 til 2003 without missing a game, he is top 3 in receptions and yds behind some guy named Rice. You cannot talk of the Raider Greatness without bringing up Tim Brown and NFL greats without him. Raffy is a great player but Timmy was just better.

I can't buy any argument that Palmiero having 3000 hits and 500 homeruns can be denied the Hall. You have to re-write the damn entry rules if you're going to keep him out. So I am shunning Tim Brown. Both have been great, although mostly unnoticed with their consistent career, but nothing eye popping. They'll both be in the Hall, but Raffy's got a two one way tickets to be there.

3rd best receiver of all time being kept out? Raf hasn't been extraordinary, ever. Point to Slyder.

    Finally...

Remember the XFL? I do. Ever heard of that game silly Europeans call "football"? If you had to watch 5 games of either sport, which would you watch: UEFA Cup Championships or XFL playoffs (however THAT would work)? Around the Horn to Slyder.

UEFA Championships no comparision. Soccer in the rest of the world is king and the XFL was a joke to gimmicky to succeed. And if your going to try and insult the great sport at least TRY TO SPELL IT RIGHT ITs FUTBOL. The crowds at these games would drown out even most NFLs finest games here and the UEFA are the cream of the crop in Europe. IF I had to watch 5 games of either it would be the UEFA Championships.

Save your time, watch the UEFA. You can watch Adam Sandler's take on the Longest Yard and pretty much get the XFL vibe. It just might be more entertaining. I'd really rather spare myself the torture of watching either, but you're bound to see real heart and soul put forth in the effort in the UEFA Championship. That's worth more than watching scrap heap nobodies playing some hokey altered version of the great sport of football. American football.

Being a jobless bum and pretty new compared to mostly everyone else, it sure feels good to win. I'd like to take this quick moment and recognize Lance Armstrong as he won the ESPY for best male athlete yet again. And deservingly so. Hopefully he wins the Tour de France, and next year is there in person to take home the award. That will be a great moment.

Now it's time to finish off my article for SBSL. Smell ya later.

My Journalism teacher from last semester has met Lance Armstrong in person a couple of times and said that he is a real JERK in person. He is a great biker, but it sounds like he is a real SOB in person.

Congrats. on the win Zito. Beware though, you will go down next time.

Homer: We're proud of you, boy.

Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.
