Racing NABSAR - LENOX Industrial Tools "301

Points after Toyota / Save Mart 350...
    Porter - 313 (5/3/6)
    KoZ - 261 (1/1/5)
    Foster - 249 (3/2/2)
    Prov - 225 (1/1/2)
    bc - 214 (3/2/1)
    DK - 213 (2/0/0)
    mofo - 210 (2/2/0)
    cj - 88 (1/0/0)
    redsr - 18 (0/0/0)
    rockiesfan - 8 (0/0/0)

Last weeks format worked, I liked it, so we are going to use it again.
    You most make 2 picks.
One pick from the top 15 in drivers points.
One pick from 16 on back in drivers points.

Jayski'sŪ NASCAR Silly Season Site - 2010 Sprint Cup Drivers Points Standings after Infineon

Also, I maybe combining all the picks into one list. Instead of their being 2 different divisions so to speak, our "tier 1" drivers compete for the same points as the "tier 2". The result will be 1 finishing order, combining all of the picks.

The problem being that we haven't been doing this all season, and I would hate to change things up on us this far into the season. That being said, we can call it a season at the moment, and start again, using this new way of racing.

Leave your thoughts and your picks below.

Re: NABSAR - LENOX Industrial Tools "301

If you're counting the whole thing as one list, then doesn't the scoring need to be modified?

    KoZ - JJ 1st (+ win)
    Prov - Jeff Gordon 4th
    Porter - Harvick 5th
    Foster - Logano 9th
    DK - Allmendinger 10th
    DK - Kyle Busch 11th
    Foster - Burton 12th
    MoFo - Hamlin 14th
    Prov - Reutimann 15th
    KoZ - Truex Jr. 22nd
    MoFo - JPM 34th
    Porter - Kahne 36th (+ most led)

    Otherwise it looks like this:

    KoZ - JJ 1st (+win)
    Prov - JG 4th
    Porter - KH 5th
    DK - KyBu 11th
    Foster - Burton 12th
    MoFo - Jamlin 14th

    Foster - Logano 9th
    DK - AJ Almond 10th
    Prov - RotoReutimann 15th
    KoZ - Napa Jr. 22nd
    MoFo - JPM 34th
    Porter - KK 36th (+ most led)

Re: NABSAR - LENOX Industrial Tools "301

Well I did up the points using the first set of results that Prov provided...

Points after Lenox Indistrial Tools 301...
    Porter - 331 (5/3/7)
    KoZ - 288 (2/2/5)
    Foster - 264 (3/2/2)
    Prov - 244 (1/1/2)
    DK - 227 (2/0/0)
    mofo - 215 (2/2/0)
    bc - 214 (3/2/1)
    cj - 88 (1/0/0)
    redsr - 18 (0/0/0)
    rockiesfan - 8 (0/0/0)

And for the second set of points...
    Porter - 332 (5/3/7)
    KoZ - 296 (2/2/5)
    Foster - 277 (3/2/2)
    Prov - 254 (1/1/2)
    DK - 239 (2/0/0)
    mofo - 224 (2/2/0)
    bc - 214 (3/2/1)
    cj - 88 (1/0/0)
    redsr - 18 (0/0/0)
    rockiesfan - 8 (0/0/0)

The difference being that those behind Porter gained more in the second set of points. I thought that the combined set of results would have a greater effect, but it actually hurt the points for us all. That being said, I don't want to change something mid-way just to take away the advantage Porter had on us. I may stick with our original way of doing things, and keep making everyone make 2 picks. I may be able to add some different challenges if we keep it going on the same beaten path.

    Thoughts?

Re: NABSAR - LENOX Industrial Tools "301

If you change it to the combined list that is helping Porter vs. the way we did it the whole time, which was fair for everyone at this point. Changing it hurt everyone else and helped him in this example. It will make it harder for anyone to catch him...if anyone could anyway.

I think keeping the scoring the same is fair. You could keep having us pick 2 a week though. I'm fine with that.

I think you should keep it as two separate set of points. I like it better that way. Maybe you can make F1, IRL or some other race that weekend as the 2nd one maybe or mix the "2nd" set up more.
