    NHL Hockey playoffs selections.

    Take these to the bank!

    East

    (1) Boston over (8) Montreal in 5 games - Montreal is 24-7 in 31 playoff series against Boston, but there's no ****ing way that they win this one. No ****ing way.

    (2) Washington over (7) New York Rangers in 7 games - Even though Jose Theodore ****ing blows, it's hard to bet against Ovechkin. He'll win 4 games for the Caps, while Theo loses 3 for them.

    (3) New Jersey over (6) Carolina in 4 games - Don't bet against Martin Brodeur in the playoffs, especially since Brodeur didn't have to play very much in the regular season.

    (4) Pittsburgh over (5) Philadelphia in 6 games - Meh, whatever.

    West

    (1) San Jose over (8) Anaheim in 6 games - Anaheim has been on fire lately, but eight seeds don't upset one seeds.

    (7) Columbus over (2) Detroit in 6 games - Upset pick of the year! Detroit's goaltending blows, Columbus's goaltending is amazing. Columbus gets it done in their playoffs debut.

    (3) Vancouver over (6) St. Louis in 7 games - St. Louis has finished the season very strong, but Luongo shuts everyone down. Bet the under on every game in this series.

    (5) Calgary over (4) Chicago in 7 games - Chicago is the trendy team, but Calgary has better goaltending and they get it done.

And as far as these go, I would be shocked if Detroit goes out in the first round, and also shocked if Boston wins in five games. Montreal won't roll over that easily. Also, I think I'd take Chicago to win, but it's a toss up for sure. Watch out for Carolina, they've been playing some really good hockey lately.

But none of it matters, The Pens are going to win it all.

    East

    (1) Boston over (8) Montreal in 5 games - Montreal will win the 1st game at home... and thats it, Thomas is too sharp and the Bruins are too deep, and figured out the Montreal jinx this season

    (2) Washington over (7) New York Rangers in 6 games- not enough firepower to take out WSH

    (6) Carolina over (3) New Jersey in 6 games - Carolina is very hot, and will be a tough out for anyone, NJ can't score enough goals to stay with Carolina

    (5) Philadelphia over (4) Pittsburgh in 6 games - Philadelphia steals game 2 in Pittsburgh and holds serve at home... but if they lose 1 at home, Pittsburgh takes the series in 7 games.

    West

    (1) San Jose over (8) Anaheim in 7 games - Home ice holds in this series

    (7) Columbus over (2) Detroit in 5 games - Detroit is colder than the weather in Alaska, Columbus has the better goaltending and wins the series easily.

    (3) Vancouver over (6) St. Louis in 7 games - Don't bet against Luongo, especially when they have home ice.

    (4) Chicago over (5) Calgary in 7 games - Chicago holds at home due to amazing fan support

    East

    (1) Boston over (8) Montreal - What do you get when you cross Canadien forwards incapable of scoring 30 goals a season with Zdeno Chara? A power outage.

    (2) Washington over (7) Rangers - Ovechkin can almost singlehandedly win games for the Caps.

    (3) New Jersey over (6) Carolina - The Devils don't lose in the first round when they're the Atlantic Division champs.

    (4) Pittsburgh over (5) Philadelphia - repeat result from last year's conference title series

    West

    (1) San Jose over (8) Anaheim - I wanted to go with the Ducks as the homer pick, and Francois Beauchemin's return makes it interesting, but I realize that picking the Ducks over Sharks is as foolish as picking the Chargers over the 2007 Patriots team.

    (2) Detroit over (7) Columbus - Steve Mason is just not enough.

    (3) Vancouver over (6) St. Louis - Gotta go with Luongo over Chris Mason in this one.

    (4) Chicago over (5) Calgary - The Hawks swept the season series.

I caved and went with Columbus instead. Not having one lower seed win didn't sit well with me, and I wasn't sold on the 5 seeds.
