    NHL trade deadline thread

Keeping you updated if Mike Sillinger gets traded for the tenth time in his career.

The Ducks get Ryan Whitney from the Pens in exchange for Chris Kunitz and OHL second leading scorer Eric Tangradi. The Ducks get a D-man who moves the puck, and the Pens get a linemate to protect Crosby.

I'm excited that the Bruins got Mark Recchi and a 2nd round pick in the draft at the deadline, we have a lot of ready prospects now and not room for all of them so dealing two for a pick and a good veteran made sense for us

Damn it, Bob Murray, what the **** are you doing? Why are Pahlsson, Huskins, and Montador being jettisoned in return for players who aren't going to help the team this year?

Wisniewski is a good 4th d-men, Petri Kontiola could be a decent player too but still needs development

Pahlsson hurts a lot and losing Moen will hurt too but both are UFA, losing 2/3rds of their checking line from the cup winning year, just doesn't help their playoff's chances right now

Huskins and Montador don't matter that much

Huskins himself is a good 4th d-man when he's healthy, but now I understand that trading him isn't a bad idea after all, since he's out indefinitely with a broken foot. Wisniewski replaces Montador. But damn, who's going to replace Moen and Pahlsson? Mike Brown and Ryan Carter?
