The holding in the end zone was a good call, the entire Steelers line basically held. But the call on Wilson on the FG was bogus, he was off balance due to someone hitting him and he couldn't control where his body was being flung. And he barely hit Berger, that was all acting.

He rammed into Berger's head, that was an obvious call. And pretty stupid to even bother with the holder at that point, not that it mattered in the end.

Plus there was a defensive holding call that was ridiculous as well

Agreed, he didn't have to plow him over, it was just a horrible job by Wilson.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

    Horseshit

It was not any obvious call.. they guy was off balance because of having his feet tripped up... he did not have malicious intent... IMHO each and every one of the 'roughing' calls in this game was incredibly stupid... the refs were WAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY too ticky-tac on that crap...

The refs made a lot of good calls.. .the left guard of the Cards was a holding machine and was rightfully called a lot... the holding call in the endzone was the correct call... but the bad ones sure outweighed the good ones

The reason it got called was because right after Wilson made contact with Berger, Wilson slowed to a jog and had perfect balance. Now, it's likely that the balance came from stopping much of his momentum, but because he looked like he was suddenly in control(and because he appeared to lower his head/shoulder) he was definitely going to get called for it.

What happens after the contact/call is not of any consequence.... my car can suddenly go straight after hitting your car... would not change the fact that another car had me slightly off kilter and caused me to have less control which resulted in tapping you

The call, just as the roughing the passer call, was complete horseshit

I think the roughing the passer call was pretty obvious actually.

Goes both ways. Regardless of what caused it, he lowered his shoulder into the holder. That's the penalty. Is it arguable, yes. Is it explain-able, yes. But, because he appeared to be in complete control of his body directly after contact, it made it appear that his LACK of balance seconds earlier was exaggerated.

Jesus Christ... I have actually found a couple people who are actually defending that call... when about 98% of the people I have conversed with see exactly the opposite..

The refs might as well have been wearing black and gold stripes, instead of black and white...

I suppose he should not prepare for the fall.. y'know.. just flop like a dead fish or a candywrapper in the wind ... there was no malicious intent... if no trip up on the feet, it would never have been even close to happening...

And things like that are called.. yet Harrison and his Wrastlin' match antics were not escorted from the field... and we can mention numerous other things that PIT was not called or...

If they're gonna call ticky-tac... do it equally... they did not.. the officiating was the worst I have seen in a few years.. and detracted from what could have been an even greater game

I will agree to a point. Harrison SHOULD definitely have been tossed. There were a few questionable calls. Hell, if you check Harrison's INT return, there was a facemask called on the Cardinals...I didn't see a facemask. So, yeah, there were some rough calls, but I didn't have a problem with it....Wilson decked him. Penalty could be at worst called questionable, not necessarily bad.

Roughing the passer calls have got to go! Too many stupid calls protecting the QB. I forgot who said it but it was someone from the Steelers that said the NFL is becoming a sissy league and I agree 100%. I have said that for a long time now.

Wilson did not deck him... you fell for an acting job that was about as bad as Paulie Shore doing Hamlet

You want to eliminate that completely? That's a horrible idea.

And honestly, I saw one or two calls that I was upset with...yet people are *****ing like this was the worst officiated game they've ever seen. There will never be a perfectly-officiated game. Get over it.
