That's a fair point. Louisville is a damn good team. I think Uconn, Louisville, Pitt, ND, Gtown, Cuse, Marquette, Nova, and MAYBE WV will all be in discussion come March. It's a nasty conference, and I don't even know how you could possibly put some of these teams in an order of how good they are...

    Re: Orange Basketball

If I had to rank them NOW, I would do it like such:

Uconn, Pitt. Louisville, ND, Georgetown, Cuse, Marquette, Nova, WV

although even WV can beat any of these teams given the right circumstances. I wouldn't have put G-town ahead of Cuse with all it's horrible losses, but they beat us and until/if we beat theme here in the dome, then we move ahead of them. Also, I know we beat ND, but they have the better wins so far right now IMO. The Orange need to beat one more of the teams ahead of them on this list in order to get respect even from me

I'd have Louisville ahead of Pitt. Lousiville has three losses but those came early in the year, one being now ranked Minnesota. Louisville has beaten more ranked opponents and beat Pitt head to head. Maybe I am biased since I am a Louisville fan but within the conference that's how I see it.

It's tough to rank, because I mean, you know how big home court is in the big east. So, to lose road games is harder to penalize a team for. I think you're pretty close, I think the thing about the big east is that it's really not strict rankings, but more tiers, and within those tiers teams can be jumbled around:

Top Tier- Watch out for these guys!
    Uconn, Pitt, Louisville

2nd Tier- Damn good teams, beatable, but only if they hurt themselves
    Syracuse, ND, Georgetown

3rd Tier- Good teams, but a step below. Can beat you, or can look bad on any given night.
    Marquette, Nova, WV

4th Tier- Mediocre, can beat you under the right circumstances
Providence, Cincinnati, and MAYBE Rutgers(Only because The RAC is ridiculous)

Bottom Tier- These teams just aren't very good
St. Johns, Seton Hall, South Florida, Depaul

ND & Georgetown stink right now and Villanova has lost to every decent team they played and doesn't have a big win so it's easy to seperate these teams.

Louisville, Pitt & UConn at the top
the next tier is SU & Marquette(thought they haven't faced a real test yet)
then it's ND, GU, WV and Villanova

The BE is very overrated. Good conference but not the best this year and as teams like ND, GU and Villanova continue to falter the depth takes a huge hit.

Are you guys trying to compete for the dumbest statement in this thread, or what?
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

I'd love for you to explain to me how either my or LJ's post is dumb in any way, shape, or form

You both said Syracuse, Notre Dame, and Georgetown were better than Marquette.

    I'm cracking up.

Marquette has beaten Wisconsin, Nova, WV, and ND. All good teams, but nothing spectacular. They have not been tested AT ALL in the Big East. Sorry, I just can't give them too much credit (yet).

And we have a better resume than Marquette?

    Cuse RPI- #16
    Cuse SOS-.5789(Ranked #23)

    Marquette RPI- #21
    Marquette SOS- .5399 (Ranked #77)

Yes, we have a better resume. They've beaten almost no one impressive. We had Kansas, Florida, Memphis. They had Wisconsin, a loss to Tennessee, and the same Big East games that we have coming up.

Yopur obsession w/ me continues... Just like most other issues you are clueless about this. The BE is vastly overrated. The ACC is the top conference this year and anyone who kn ows anything about college basketball will, at worst, tell you it's debateable but you guys know it all and know the BE is the best despite not prtoving it on the court. Stop just paying attention to rankings and watch these teams play and see what they have actually done so far.

Neither Marquette or SU have beaten a really good team(Memphis struggled in non-conf then go on a win streak in that weak conf and they are ranked again) but SU has been the better team so far this year. Marquette will have their test their last 4 BE games.

    Re: Orange Basketball

Nyjunc, that's not entirely true. I was listening to the announcers for....I think it was the Marquette-ND game the other night, and I agree with them. Basically, the Big East is the better conference. The ACC (MIGHT) have a better 1/2/3 punch, but there is NOT EVEN AN ARGUMENT when you realize that the ACC's 5th or 6th teams are about the same level as the Big East's 10th. You can't even try to tell me that ANY other conference can compete with the Big East's 1 through 10. I MIGHT listen if you argue that the top of the ACC is better(maybe), but if you honestly believe that the ACC is better after factoring in depth.....well, then we're never gonna agree.

ACC top 3 > Big East top 3

Big East top 10 > ACC top 6

Big East top 10 >>>>>>>>> ACC top 10
