Seemingly everyone ripped the Packers for this but I have almost no qualms about the way they handled this. They were put into an impossible situation where you've promised one guy he's going to be the starter and you have the guy who's been your QB for 16 or so years who wants his job back. In the end I think they made the right move and I am very excited for the Aaron Rodgers era in Green Bay.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

I couldn't agree more. You are the first person who I've seen have the same opinion as me

I was talking about the ridiculous amount of money he is being paid, not the draft pick.

What am I? Invisible? I was ripping Farve in the other thread and blaming it entirely on him.

That's not even close. A-Rod's being paid a shitload of money to play, he should perform. Aaron Rogers hasn't even gotten a chance yet. If he sucks, then you can boo him. But for god's sake let him at least play a freakin game before you boo him.

I vividly remember agreeing with you, and posting that I did so.

it may suck, but it usually happens. Steve Young was the exception to the rule of being the guy who follows the guy who followed the legend. Outside of Young, can you really name a QB who immediately followed the legend who succeeded?

Eli Manning kind of followed the legendary Kerry Collins

Jeff Garcia followed Young and got the 49ers to the playoffs.

but he still wasnt treated with the same kind of respect that he really should have deserved. at least it seemed that way from a distance.

    1. Pats will win the division ( unfortunately)
    2. Wildcard race will be between Cincinnati, Jacksonville, Cleveland, and Denver.*edit maybe titans* If anyone in the AFC East were to compete for the wildcard it would be the Bills.

    3. The Giants retooled O-Line still will give the old timer a tough time in the pocket.

Dont get me wrong I like the Jets and Bret but I dont see anything happening there.

We were going to compete for a WC spot w/ or w/o favre. Now if we don't make it this trade is senseless. people forget quickly that we were 10-6 just 2 years ago and in the playoffs and that we have been an every other year team since 2002. '02 we won the div, '03 6-10, '04 kick away from AFC Title Game, '05 4-12, '06 WC team, '07 4-12. We made alot of upgrades this offseason and we were going to be good regardless. If Brett is decent we should be a playoff team.

The situations are just a little different. ARod is supposed to be the best player in the game and he can't hit when it matters, Rodgers is just getting his chance and psychologically it's probably not a good thing to be booing him before he has ever started a game.
