    Vick Sentenced To 23 Months

The venues that have provided the stages for the ascendancy and decline of the sad parabola of the Michael Vick story pretty much say it all.

On the way up: The Superdome. The Georgia Dome. Lambeau Field.

On the way down: 1915 Moonlight Road. Surry County courthouse. Northern Neck Regional Jail.

A player who seemed to defy physics on the field with his burst has now plummeted faster than the 9.8-meters-per-second-squared acceleration of gravity.

Once feared as an indefensible double threat, Vick will now be remembered for two very different timelines. The first covered seven years and included some of the most memorable football moments of the decade. The second covered seven months and featured details so grisly and disturbing it made a public almost inured to criminality on the part of athletes.

Tennessee Titans. Duke athletics. New York Yankees. Carolina Hurricanes. Portland Trailblazers.

He's also supposed to pay for the care of the 50+ dogs that were apparently found on his property on top of that sentence. Oh joy.

Judge Henry Hudson: I'm sentencing you to 23 months in prison!
    Michael Vick: Oh no!
    Vick's attorney: Oh no!
    Arthur Blank: Oh no!
    Falcons Fans: Oh no!
    Joey Harrington: OH YEAH!
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Harrington's starting days are over. Vick will not spend anywhere close to the 23 months in prison.

Vick will at least spend 18 months in prison, if he's out earlier I'll be surprised

If Vick spends at least 20 of his 23 months in jail, you have to give up smoking weed for the rest of your life.

In that one, I meant there's no chance he would do it voluntarily by his own will.

actually yes he will. This was a federal crime. By federal law, he is REQUIRED to serve 85% of his 23 month sentence. So at most, he could get 3 months off for good behavior. He's not getting out until July 2009 at the earliest.
