    Baseball Slant Kentucky Derby 2009

My big play of the day ($80) is on Friesan Fire to win. I also have a small sprinkle (only $20 but sweet payout) on a 6-15-16 Trifecta box of: Friesan Fire, Dunkirk, Pioneer of the Nile.

It's supposed to be a rainy and wet day at the Derby, but Friesan Fire has trained well and everyone says that the wet track suits him well. He crushed the field at the Louisiana Derby and there's a good shot he'll do the same here. He's got a good starting gate too with the 6 spot, just where you want to be, not too close to the rail where you'll get squeezed in at the turn and not too far on the outside where you'll get boxed out.

Friesan Fire wins it. Mark my words.

I'm definitely not picking Pioneer of the Nile, even though he's trained by Bob Baffert. The Santa Anita Derby winner hasn't won the Kentucky since Sunday Silence did in 1989.

I Want Revenge has been pulled from the race even though he's the big favorite. Owners intend to scratch I Want Revenge from Kentucky Derby - ESPN

I'm going with Friesan Fire, Chocolate Candy, Pioneer of the Nile.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Gotta love the feelgood story of how the owner barely was able to scrounge up the entrance fee.

My uncle was at the Derby and made me bet 20 bucks so i decided to take a long shot cause people really don't know a ton about these heading into the derby and longshots win a good portion of the time. Just happened to get the right one

A little Canadian action on that win.
