I don't know whether I like giving up so much for Luongo yet, depends on what happens wth Cloutier and Anson Carter, but so far I'm iffy.

and what about goalie Mikka Noronen
now he's back to where he started with Buffalo, being the 3rd string goalie again.

they won't be keeping both of them. I'm hoping Clouts is gone, because he has more trade value and they really need to get a nice replacement for Bert on the wing, plus I just hate him.

Cloutier makes 2.5 million next season with 1 year left on his contract before he hits UFA status, so I think Noronen holds more value then Cloutier

Cloutier also haven't played since his knee injury

then the canucks defense took another blow dealing big defensemen Bryan Allen, there is a very good chance that Ed Jovanovski will leave to be a Free Agent, and that also include Keith Carney, Sean Brown and Eric Weinrich, all that's left is Ohlund and Salo and a bunch of AHL defensemen

Noronen looked pretty bad last year, I think that hit his value hard.

Frankly, I'd prefer to keep him over Clouts, anyway.

more on Anson Carter, he made 1 million last season and had a big season look for him wanting about 3 million to come back, he's a greedy son of a *****

I really think the Canucks will trade Morrison before next seasons start

if Noris manages to sign Roberto Luongo to a big mutli-year contract, the Canucks will be sitting pretty for years, as long as they beat the flames I don't care what they do

If Anson won't return, it's pretty much a given, and they'll just condense into a line of Sedins/Nazzy.

A 1A goaltender, a dime a dozen stay-at-home defenseman, and a past his prime Todd Bertuzzi does not make equal value for Luongo. The last time the Canucks traded a superstar forward to the Panthers involved Pavel Bure going to Florida. Bure had a couple of All-Star seasons and then for payroll concerns was dealt to New York. Who is to say the Panthers front office won't dump Bertuzzi two years from now?

BHertuzzi and Luongo are both UFA (if not re-signed) after next season, so both of them could end up leaving for UFA too

In that case, who's to say the Panthers won't dump Bertuzzi by next season's deadline in return for Filip Novak clones?

Who knows if Bertuzzi is really past his prime? The media in Canada kept coming back with the Steve Moore incident. Florida, well, they don't really care much about hockey, so the pressure is off for him.

Luongo is a greedy SOB as much as I loved him. Oh well, maybe Auld can perform well in goal and Jokinen/Bertuzzi can carry the offense. Weiss and Horton starting to live up to their hype would be nice too.

Ok, Bertuzzi hasn't been past his prime yet with his still stellar assist and PIM totals, but he hasn't scored 30 goals in two seasons and he wasn't projected to do that in 2003 even before the Steve Moore incident.
