I still need LJ to clarify more. Porter just basically repeated what LJ said.

Because this is an online forum, where people can pretty much claim whatever they want about themselves, we are forced to simply believe everything. IE: Shadow could be a 50 year old woman, but because we only talk online, we would never know. So, take those people listed, and guess what they are most likely to have claimed that is untrue.

I would take Vasgersian's because he's in sunny San Diego for half the season, and he's got basically an open offer from ESPN to join their staff whenever he feels like it.

    2) I would probably be a stock broker. The stock market is kind of interesting to me. Still 10 times more boring than sports...

    3) Jacoby Ellsbury or Jon Lester. I realize Ellsbury isn't nearly the best player on that team, who is probably Kevin Youikilis. But the Yankees need a competent CF badly, and they need speed. He gives them both. Lester is the perfect answer to the Yankees #4 starter problem, moreso than 1 year of Pettitte. Plus he's mad clutch, and I just plain love the guy.
Lester is going to suck this year.

IP increases like the ones he had lead to follow up campaigns like Fausto Carmona and Justin Verlander.

Check the #s, it's almost always (99%) true.

As far as General and I having a ridiculous bromance, well, at least we can read train schedules.

How is Lester going to suck this year? He is 24, maturing into a pitcher, getting healthier by the day after recovering from cancer and he's been clutch. He has a 2.25 era in the playoffs, and has already thrown a no-hitter. I would love to hear 1 reason why Lester is going to suck besides your a Yankee fan and you think every Sox player is going to suck. Between the minors and MLB in 2007 Lester threw 173.1 innings, and then last year threw 215. Thats not that much of an increase.

What!? I thought he was just doing that on the side! Wow...I am shocked that he would take a full time job with the MLB Network when he had an offer to be on ESPN full time. That surprises me

I think hes a better fit for MLB network than the eccentric ESPN roster.

    I agree.

Hell, I LOVE the fact that out of the 10 songs, 9(I think) were from Yourself or Someone Like You. That was a bad ass cd.

Busted is my favorite song off that cd, though, but Back 2 Good HAS to be on there somewhere.

Actually 6 through 12 on that cd are REALLY REALLY good.

Tom Verducci pointed out that an increase of over 30 innings leads to a dramatic drop in production the year following.

    Let's check out 07's violators:
Ian Kennedy: Lat strain/Dramatic rise in WHIP/ERA (+61 IP)
Fausto Carmona: DL for Hip/Rises in ERA and WHIP (+56.1)
    Ubaldo Jimenez: 4-9/4.22/1.54 Pre-All Star Break (+41.2)
Tom Gorzelanny: Time on DL and in AAA finished with a 6.66 ERA (+40.1)
Dustin McGowan: 6-7 Record before shoulder surgery (+38.2)
Chad Gaudin: 90 innings in mostly relief (+36)
Yovanni Gallardo Two knee surgeries (+33)

    Bring up Verlander? Fine.

Increase in 77.2 IP from 05-06...seemed fine. Went 11-17 with a 4.84 ERA last year.

And for the record, Lester's professional high was 163.0, and he went way up to 237.0, an increase of 74 innings, not 41.2.

I'm not saying that he's going to be terrible, but I bet he spends at least two terms on the DL and will be lucky to win 15 games.

I'd also expect drop offs from Nolasco (+50), Kershaw (+49), Pelfrey/Danks/Jurrens as well.

The only guy who may be exempt from the rule is Tim Lincecum because of his odd delivery and his freak status.

Expecting Lester to have the season from last year is ridiculous. Expecting Beckett to be as bad as last year is also ridiculous. I'd say you'll pick up a few wins, but mark my words, Lester won't be the same.

He might be; I can't say for sure. But stats don't lie, and I'd side with them 9/10 over any assumptions any fan, no matter how devout, will make.
