    15 year golfer goes pro

    Michelle Wie is set to announce today that she will turn pro. She will become the richest female golfer in the world with multimillion dollar endorsements.

    The Hawaiian teenager is holding a news conference in her native Hawaii to announce her decision. It comes six days before she turns 16.

    Wie competed as an amateur in seven LPGA events this year, finishing runner-up at the LPGA Championship and tying for third at the Women's British Open. She would have earned $640,870, in just seven tournaments, which would have been good enough for 12th on the LPGA money list if she could have accepted the cash.

    But the big money is expected to pour in from the numerous million-dollar endorsement deals expected to come her way.
