    Saber's beer thread!

    Beer! Has man ever had a greater accomplishment? Here I shall regale you with tales of quality beers, as well as tell you my impressions on beers you recommend.

    A recent experience allowed me to try some Alesmith brews, a brewery based in San Diego. Ones that you should note are the Grand Cru and the Horny Devil. The Grand Cru is almost a light stout, excellent, with caramel notes. A beer for wine drinkers. The Horny Devil is a Belgian ale, yet so light that it competes with hefeweisse beers in fruitiness and crispness. It matches even the Belgians that Ommegang puts out. If you enjoy barley wine, the Numbskull is also available. It's strong and malty. All these beers come in 750 ml wine bottles for 10 bucks apiece. They can be cellared.

    At the local Irish watering hole, the have a drink they call the 'Holy Trinity'. Its a layered drink like a black & tan, with Smithwicks, Guinness, and Harp. When served along side a plate of Chicken Wings or a French Dip with waffle-fries, it brings joy to my little heart (and an angioplasty).
