Are any of you guys following it? I am the two teams I am following are : Rancho Buena Vista(I live like and hour drive from where they play) and Guam. Man did you hear about the kid that had 18 strikeouts wow, and I THINK he hit a grand slam in todays game againts Maine. And I really hope Guam does well. So far they arae both 2-0

I hate the LLWS personally...not that I dislike the kids, but I hate the fact that ESPN feels the need to televise 11 and 12-year-olds playing baseball. I'm sure it's nice for the kids, but don't you think they're nervous enough as it is? And I hate to be anti-patriotic, but it's unfair to other countries that the series is always in the USA.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

the series is always in the US, specifically Williamsport, PA, because that is where little league was founded and where the first league was formed, too.

I know, but the World Series isn't played at Doubleday Field.

That kid that had the 18 K's looks like he's well into his 30's... literally.

Yet another reason why I hate this...you know there are some kids who are older in this.

Yeah... I have to wonder when he looks older than I do(although many think I look young for my age).

What I don't understand about ESPN is not only they are covering the LLWS, but there's another World Series that's completely different and that's the American Legion World Series. Eight different states compete and its held in Rapid City, SD. I'm guessing everybody here has heard something about The American Legion.

Hell, FSN covered high school baseball not too long ago.

Why would high schools watch them? High Schools can't go pay off the family and recruit the kids to their town. Geez.

Some of today's major league baseball players played in the LLWS and it was a great time for all of them. As for ESPN covering the games, I really have no problem with it. Kids will have to go through nervous things all their lifes, but I'm sure when they are out on the field they don't think about national TV is watching them.

Maybe, but I know every 5 seconds I would catch a quick glance over at that ESPN camera and start shaking.
