For example, SR, I was worried not allowing egoc and folks would cause folks to leave, but it turned out I was way too worried and conservative about it. On the other hand, I've seen Crow banned from 2 boards and activity suffer a ton after he was gone. It's really about determining a core and what your guys want.

SR had kind of a unique dynamic with its members and I'm not sure it compares well with many of the other message boards I've posted at, to include this one.

Also, egoc wasn't ever invited nor encouraged to post at SR. That's not quite the same as outright banning somebody who's been there.

No, but everyone at SR had posted with him before and knew him. Most were indifferent or happy he wouldn't be coming. POW was in good shape before I killed old SR and had them come in too.

But yes, SR was different, but that's part of the point. It wasn't designed to be a big board, just a fun one. There's a reason I never posted at Gridironfans or Sportsjabber or whatever because while there was activity, it was slobbering herd type which goes back to my original point that we're all a bit better than the usual Joe Sportsfan. I will sacrifice activity for community every single time.

As for LTR, that goes back to pre-emptively doing something. Was he always a pain or did it just happen? Nobody wanted Thomas around, but we didn't ban him, he just left. I'm not sure anyone would have been up in arms if we dumped him.

I mean, banning people because you don't like their posting habits or think it meshes wrong with the forum is part of why theNFLforums​ and all of its subsequent spinoffs (to include yours) were born in the first place.

As is, I really don't even hate the setup we got going here. We still have a group of people I get along with to various degrees BSing about fake baseball leagues. While I'd love to have a forum full of people discussing the actual sport as well I can be happy with this as is.

Punted over disagreements...that's kind of what you're suggesting we should have done with LTR.

I guess during the time I was gone for so long recovering from my illness, I missed the whole LTR, Mofo purging. While I can understand it, I basically just got to the point I avoided any flame baiting most especially by Mofo after a post he made directly to me in the Rays forum, I basically just said, I don't know what I did or said that brought out the swipe. After that I never quoted anything from him or addressed him directly and he never typed a peep to me again.
Bullies no matter where they are feed off of your reactions. Ignoring them is the best thing.

I gotta admit though I like the banter and debates as long as it's not below the belt.

To touch on what Cyn said about how he knew he could come here with this "question" but it might raise eyebrows on FB. As a female I didn't take it personally, his usage of the "B" word in this instance. Even though context or inflection isn't always easy to determine in text, it was obvious he meant it as a slang term and not direct name-calling. Its the old, it's not what you say it's how you say it. I am with Leo, I like it here, I even like Leo.

Mofo was booted for repeated use of racial/homophobic slurs. Sabu got the boot the first time because of comments made towards Porter. Sabu was quickly canned but since mofo once was a worthy contributor to our forums before becoming a mongoloid, he was given more than enough chances. LTR got his panties in a wad because he was not made a super moderator, to which was a lengthy process carried out by the admin team and the other mods. To be honest, LTR was very active but he brought little substance. Empty post count. He was the Juan Pierre of posters. I'd much rather have old realmofotalk return than LTR.
