Nationals How much should I weigh?

Before I say anything, let me inform you on my body specs.

    Age: 14
    Height: 6 feet
Weight: 148 pounds (It's muscle, i'm not over weight at all)
    Grade: Freshmen

This off season, i'm trying to gain weight. Not fat, muscle. My goal is to be around 165-170 by the start of my first high school game. I was just wondering, is this a realistic expectation? If so, are their any specific work outs that help increase weight? Thanks!

You should weigh 1, maybe 2 times a day. If you weigh 3 or more times a day, you need to find something else to do.

I always heard differently because weight fluctuates. I always heard you should only weigh yourself like once a week near same time every week.

    14 years old? Wow.

You know you're getting old when you've done their grandmothers.

Okay, seriously -- 6 ft and 148. No, of course you're not overweight, that's actually pretty thin. 165 - 170 is a good target goal for high school. Cycling 15-20 miles a few times a week used to bulk up my thighs and calves. Weight lifting for arms. Or carry a heavy musket. When I served in the Civil War I toted a musket and knapsack for many miles and I really bulked up.

I'm working out for roughly 2 hours a day, 6 days a week. Is weight something that will come naturally for me if I keep this up?

honestly if you want to gain mass you will want to increase your calorie intake and keep up with the weight lifting and it will come with time. Give it six months and depending on how much weight gainer you're taking, plus amount of food you should be able to tack on 10 pounds over the summer if you really work on it.

Deadlifts, rows and benches are your friends, do not neglect your legs.

Basically you want eat more calories than you burn while doing strength training... Simplest way to put it.

Re: How much should I weigh?

Trying to gain 25 pounds over the course of the summer may be a bit much. Overall, the tips these guys have given you is pretty much on point. You want to take in calories, largely protein (muscle weighs more than fat) while continuing to work out. Don't starve yourself, obviously, and don't OVERwork yourself. Also, while making sure you eat enough is imperative, don't eat just to add calories. A young age is the best time to cut some of the crap out of your diet. I'm 24 and just now eliminating most of the soda/candy/etc from my diet, but you'll see even better results if you start doing that type of thing now. Eating well and working out should help you bump yourself up over the summer.
