Anyone else seen Charlie & The Chocolate Factory yet?

I still prefer the original movie (mainly because of Gene Wilder), but holy shit, the new one had the best oompa loompa songs ever.

Varuca's song, in particular, was incredible. Also Mike Teavee's because of the awesome outfits they had.

I wish Johnny Depp had a few songs, though

Willy Wonka/Johnny Depp looked like he bleached himself.

In this movie it wasn't golden egg; It was golden nut.

    They sang different songs.

I could go on forever naming a list of differences. Those were probably the top two noticable ones.

Someone asked me to describe this movie in a smiley, so I did:

The Oompas Loompas creeped me out. I know they are suppose to be creepy, but they were just way too creepy. Though, I liked it. Freddie Highmore did a great job playing Charlie. The second role he has done really well.
    LOVE THEE NOTRE DAME!

I liked it, as did my kids....

Various differences (No fizzy lifting drinks to get Charlie in trouble with his contract, more defined ending, explaining Willy's father, explaining why grandpa Joe went with Charlie, etc)

I haven't seen it yet, but it looks like this movie isn't as dark as I had hoped it would be. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Sad news, ATL...The previews are a hoax: when Charlie goes into the factory, he is teleported...back in time and location...to a time when..

The movie isn't dark at all.

I'd go so far as to say the original movie was darker, but all it had was underlying darkness; this one has.... nothing. It has like, two scenes expressing darkness.

I went to see it with a bad attitude to be honest but I came away enjoying it. Sadly I don't think the previews were directed towards my demographic, so that could of lead to my bad attitude going in.

I've got as much ambition to see this movie as I do to masturbate with a cheese grater. This movie's previews are a real turnoff for me. I like Depp in most of his flicks, but he looks like a carol channing wannabe.

You must really want to see it. JUST KIDDING!! I wanted to see just because I saw Fantastic Four and War of the Worlds, so I thought I'd see this then.

DID YOU KNOW - You can just walk around the movie thearters all day long without getting caught.

I didn't like it at all...they took out the best scenes. The end scene with charlie and willy, the golden ticket song, oompa lumpa doopaty do (that song), and many others. The original was way better.
