    The World's Greatest Cheeseburger?!?! (a rant)

    [RANT]With all due respect to the late, great Dave Thomas, but the world's greatest cheeseburger is not at Wendy's...or any other fast food restaurant for that matter. I'm sorry. It just isn't.

    I drove by a Wendy's today and that was what they put up on the board under the sign where you can change the letters to say whatever you want. They should be sued for false advertising.

    I'm not exactly sure where the world's greatest cheeseburger is. I've had many a cheeseburger in my life. A few great ones. Many good ones. Some so-so ones. A few crappy ones. I can tell you, however, that it is most definitely not at a fast food restaurant where it comes in frozen and is made from low grade mystery meat.[/RANT]

    the best burgers ive ever had are homemade... add some bacon... im not big on cheese, but i dont condemn those that are... burn that ****er on both sides but have it still mooing on the inside. and thats a damn burger. having somebody else make a burger for you, is usually a recipe for disaster... unless its at a bbq, and youre watching them make it and you can tell them when to take it off the grill.

    BBQ home made burgers are always the best.

    Slightly charred on the outsides, slightly pink on the inside, but not bleeding = the best.

    My old boss had a funny story about a Phillip Burger in Arkansas being the best cheesburger in America, and he said it was the best one he's ever had.

    Apparently he bought a few for his upcoming plane flight, and when he opened it on the airplane, the scent drifted back and some lady 3 rows behind him stood up and yelled out on the plane "WHO HAS A PHILLIP BURGER?!"

    I don't know if I have ever had one burger reign supreme with my taste buds, but right now I'd love a classic burger. Charred on the outside, medium rare, fresh garlic on top, some good cheddar cheese melted on, big slice of tomato, a nice leaf of lettuce, a slice of onion, and a dill pickle spear on the side. Maybe on a kaiser bun or on pretzel bread.

    If you can't tell, I haven't had breakfast nor did I have a proper dinner last night.

    I had a buffalo burger last week. fresh buffalo from South Dakota. It's leaner, better for you, and taste really good. It had a nice slice of cheddar, some lettuce, tomato, red onion, and a couple pickles. It was only a couple more expensive, too. I've only had it a few times as I've only seen it offered at this one restaurant we go to when we're up in NH.

    Homemade is always better than something I can get around here. I can tailor it to exactly what I like, an boy does it taste good.

    I will give credit to Wendy's for being the best "fast food" burger I have had.

    step 1: gather premium ingredients
    I assume they're being sarcastic there...

    how about this heart attack-wich?

    the description from the horse’s mouth:

    * 2 Original Recipe Filets
    * Bacon
    * Pepper Jack Cheese
    * Swiss Cheese
    * Colonel’s Sauce
    the filets are the bread of the sandwich...

    we went to this place tonight:

    Luxe Burger Bar Providence Rhode Island

    good stuff. I did the "build your own burger" thing and my g/f got the Italian Job burger. good prices, too. 2 burgers with hand cut fries and 2 sodas only came to less than $20 before tax and tip. good, all natural and organic beef, too.
