Random bought my new condo today!

egads has it been stressful lately. I closed today on my new place. I'm just glad its all done! I'm excited about it. Its time i bought my own place, and the time was right with the 8,000 tax credit and the low interest rates (I'm @ 5.375 FWIW and i'll break even on the buying down the rate in 2 years time).

took freakin 3 hours to close, but in the end, its all worth it. I'm a homeowner!

Without pics, it never happened. I would like to buy a house but with my job I can move every 3-4 years.

not really cheap. About 40K less than it would have gone for two years ago, though. And payments (including taxes, assessments, insurance and principle and interest) is about $150 more than i am currently paying for rent.

i probably overpaid a bit, but I'm paying 4K less than asking price, plus I got 7K in credits.

At least now I own property and have an asset. renting just wasnt a good idea to keep goin, especially when there are the low rates, low costs of housing, and the 8K tax credit.
