Random Any good sales at your local Circuit City yet?

From what I've heard it's 10-30% right now. I'm not sure if that's nation wide or not.

I've heard that CC is going away. I'll give it a few weeks when stuff is 50% or more.

not really. they had people outside with signs that said 30% off. I didn't see anything 30% off. CDs/DVDs were 20% off and everything else I saw (phones, games, TVs, etc.) was 10% off.

People still buy DVDs? It's all about the Blu-Ray these days.

Blu-Ray isn't worth the massive price tag, IMO

They're selling Guitar Hero Aerosmith bundles for like 40 bucks(with a wireless controller AND the game).

Sounds like they're trying to sucker people in. When I went saturday, the only thing on sale was Christmas movies and CDs.

i read in the tribune that lots of people are pissed about it. me, i'm not going to start looking for another few weeks. most of the big ticket items arent really any cheaper than a normal sale right now.

yea, my g/f is thinking about getting an MP3 player so I thought why not check there. they were only 10% off, which was about the same price as Target and Walmart. We did end up grabbing an unrated/extended version of "Taking Lives" on DVD for about $5 though. Angelina's boobs FTW I suppose.

Right now, you can still get stuff cheaper at other places than you can at CC. Give it a couple of weeks, and I'm sure that will change.
As far as DVD's vs Blu Ray, the Blu Ray players are still out of reach for a lot of people right now...while $200 may sound cheap, times are tough on a lot of people and they just don't have the disposable income to throw away on stuff like that. Until the price on the players comes down below $100, people will still be buying DVD's over Blu Ray's.
