All in all this movie was a lot better than I thought it was going to be. They did an excellent job of putting the story in the game on the big screen and didn't change any important aspects of the storyline.

I sat through the entire movie having flashbacks of playing the game and remembering each scene from it. Most of the time when a game or book goes to the big screen Hollywood likes to change key aspects and, in a sense, ruins it for fans of the movie or book. This is not the case with Max Payne.

The visuals were excellent, pretty much right out of the game. I loved that aspect of the movie.

One hit on it, however, is the movie kind of jumps around a lot and if you've never played the game you might have a bit of trouble following along.

If you played the game and was a fan of it I think you'll really enjoy it. If you've never played the game, I won't say it will be horrible, but you might not like it quite as much.

The girl who plays her sister at the beginning of the movie gets half naked, but you don't see boobies.

I don't expect the nudity, pg-13 and all. Who plays her sister? The same chick from Hitman

I wonder if those "people" played the game, though.

As stated in the initial post I don't think you'd enjoy the movie all that much if you've never played the game.

I mostly enjoyed the visuals and the fact that they did a very good job of portraying the story in the movie without changing anything.

Max Payne wasn't all that popular of a game, so it's very possible that a lot of reviewers didn't play the game.

The only time pg-13 bothers me (as opposed to R) is in horror flicks, because that kinda limits what they can do with a lot of key aspects of a horror movie.

An R rating on this movie only would have meant Natasha (Mona's sister) flashing boobies in the beginning and maybe a bit more graphic scenes when Max shoots somebody.

I think what has hurt this move the most is the fact that the game really wasn't all that popular.

If it was I think this movie would have been a big success.

Maybe I'll have to go buy the game now, cuz the movie looks interesting to me despite the buzz it's getting, and I'd like to see it.
