I was just wondering what everyone's opinion who went today was on the Fanfest. Were you all able to get autographs and was there a lot of talks and memorabila there to purchace. I know at least 4 people who were going on here and I would like to here your stories about it when you get a chance.

    Thanks, Bon Bon

OK, well this place was a TON of fun. They had so much to do, and the place is HUGE. I went with ljshorty and dbsports (if anyone remembers him, he was here for like 2 weeks), and we met up with bwitty there.

Autos I got: Rollie Fingers and Fergie Jenkins
Autos I didn't get: Cal Ripken Jr because he's the BIGGEST DOUCHEBAG EVER. He was there, and just the way he carried himself about the whole day was so douchebaggy. He told us he'd sign for us after he did his XM show with his brother Bill. What did he do? Sign about 10 autographs and left. He just shoved people out of the way, and had no regard for those who had been waiting upwards of 1 or 2 hours for his auto.

On another note, Fingers and Jenkins were really cool people. I asked Fingers who had the better mustache, him or Giambi, and he gave me a solid "Psh." We all laughed and I asked him if he had given Giambi any tips. He said "Yeah. Shave." Hilarious. It was a great day.

I was there. I got Fingers and Jenkins too. Then I got on line again later for what was supposed to be Juan Marichal and Robin Roberts. But the j****** Marichal decided to leave early. So they replaced him with ****in awful Oscar Gamble. But I got those two, and they were ok. I got to record myself making the TV Call for 2 plays(Endy Chavez's catch and Mike Piazza's HR in the first game after 9/11.....and they gave me a DVD of both plays). And I also got some free stuff. It was an awesome day!

Next time the fanfest is in NY, we should get like 9 of us, and get a picture with the trophy. Start an advertising campaign about how S3F is the World Champ of online baseball forums

Awesome guys!! Fingers sounds like a great, laid back dude in interviews. He definitely smoked the reefer back in the day.

lol, to have that moustache, he must have. But the whole day was amazing. If the Mets get the ASG in 2012 or whatever like the rumor says, we should get a bunch of us to go!

Plus, by then I think they said they would have re-done it, so it'll be even nicer!

Fingers grew that mustache because Charlie Finley gave out bonuses for facial hair. I love tidbits like that. I just ordered jayson Stark and Tim Kurkjian's books.

    Re: The All Star Fanfest

I went to last year's FanFest when it was held at the Moscone West Convention Center here in San Fran. Did they have those simulated batting cages and base sprints and stuff? And the HoF center and the AAGPBL and Negro League tribute? I figure that they probably do, but you never know...

Sounds like you had a lot of fun though. Great to hear that.

    Re: The All Star Fanfest

They had all of that stuff. Honestly, I would kinda wanna go like twice. Once so I can go get the autographs, and once so I can enjoy the events and stands. Unfortunately, I didn't think of that this year. I will definitely go twice next time I get the chance...
