Your semester will be extended by 2 weeks to compensate for the 2 weeks that you lose to the strike. Obv.
no it won't. The teachers are striking so that they will get the same amound of money per hour or day because of there pay cut, they have said nothing about shortining our summer holodays, abnd anyways, if they did then what would be the point in striking.
The point would be that the teachers would get off now, would end up working the same amount of time, and would get paid more for it.
Um my mom's a teacher here where I live in Kanawha County and any sort of stoppage/closing will result in a shortening of summer. Federal rules require 180 days in class room education or else your school/county/state could lose federal funding. Enjoy Going til Father's Day.
The point of striking is to get what they want and thats the pay.

There are teachers striking in my area (atleast there were), however, they're all elementary/middle schools. No colleges.
I get out on Tuesday also...but I have friends leaving today
Ah, I am a teacher and any days that we miss must be made up. and yes, the government says the school year must have 180 days in it. I hate missing days during the school year. I love my summers way too much.
