    What. The. Hell?

Nintendo World Report - News Article: Major League Eating: The Game Coming to WiiWare

'Major League Eating: The Game' Coming Soon for the Nintendo Wii | Serious Eats : Required Eating

Yes, that's right people, Nintendo is coming out with a MAJOR LEAGUE EATING video game. I'm not sure why, and I'm not sure if I should laugh or cry, but this is a little bit sad if you ask me. Does anyone else think that this is a bit ridiculous?

    Quotes:

"The game will make "extensive" use of the Wii Remote to "simulate a variety of eating techniques including the cram, toss, and 'typewriter.' Burp-offs and Hot Potato challenges during the contests keep the competition intense and eaters on their toes."

"Watching Major League Eating is like watching poetry in motion" says Bill Swartz, Head Woof at Mastiff. "Professional gurgitators have the grace of ballerinas yet the brute strength, mental focus, and intestinal fortitude to push their bodies and minds as hard as athletes in any other extreme endurance sport. Victory is sweet and defeat can be well, really, really messy. It's an experience we're proud to help bring into the home."

Don't let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game.

This is an experience that I am ASHAMED OF THE VIDEO GAMING COMMUNITY AND ALL INVOLVED IN THIS GAME SHOULD BE EXECUTED IMMEDIATELY. Dumbest thing I have ever seen.

The day professional eating is like watching poetry in motion is the day poets officially become mentally insane.

I'm getting sick of generic games on the WII. Those should be computer games or something.

This game shouldn't even be a computer game. This should not exist. This is ridiculous.

That's because lots of people play poker in real life. There aren't too many people that are professional eaters. And there's A LOT more skill to poker than........snarfing down more food than the guy next to you

Well the point is, its only a game based off of events. Yeah people play poker, but playing poker in a video where nothing is on the line and playing for real money are two completly different things.

I guess, but I mean, poker is something that people will even watch for entertainment. Except maybe the 4th of July Hot Dog Contest, when is professional eating EVER televised or even written about as news?
