Nice logic there, using vegas odds as your defense. It only a choke job is a team is up by 20+ points and blow a lead. Viking in 98, Rams in 01 had number 1 offenses aswell, did they choke aswell? Since they lost in the playoffs?

You can still "choke" even if you didn't have a 20 point lead. It was a choke job just for the fact that the Patriots were 18-0 and were the favorite to win. Like PA stated, they had the number 1 scoring of all time and for them to come out and perform the way that they did is considered choking. If you want to say that that isn't choking then why do people say the Yankees choke in the playoffs every year? They don't a 20 run lead on a team and always lose (besides '04). They choke because every year they are considered the "favorite" in their game and then they come out and perform like crap. The Patriots choked, no doubt about it.

No because whenever I refer to teams choking are usually the 07 Mets who had a 10+ game lead, and the 04 Yankees who had a 3-0 lead in the ALCS.
Cards beat the Tigers in the 06 WS, does that mean Detroit choked, since they had a better record and they favored to win the WS?

To an extent, yes. Having a lead and blowing it isn't the only way you can choke in a game.

Then what are others ways to choke in a game?

A perfect example: THE 2007-2008 NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS! What in the world would you call their awful performance tonight? Would you just say, ahh pshh they just couldn't pull anything together tonight. Is that what you would say? Cause if so that would probably be considered choking.

The Patriots didn't play awful, folks...the Giants played better.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

So your saying that your shocked that the Pats lost to a team on a neutral site, who they beat by 3 points in the regular season?

No, I never said I was shocked. I'm saying the Patriots choked. Lets put it this way: If the Giants (IF) some how make a miraculous turn around next season and totally blow everyone out of the water and run away with the NL West and then sweep everyone in the playoffs and then go onto the World Series and lose would you not think that is choking?

If the Giants are up 3-0 and lose 4 straight then yes. If its a competitive series and the Giants lose in game 7 off of a walk off HR, then no its not considered a choke.

No, that pitcher that gave up that walk off home run would have choked.

I'm a huge Cowboys fan, but nothing competes with baseball.

I would trade in 5 years of Cowboy mediocrity for a WS, easy.

Way to argue the semantics of choke.

We get it, you define it differently. Just like we all define "perjurer and cheater" differently.

sorry big guy...it's choke job when you go undefeated and lose in the championship game. 18 - 1 has never sounded so sweet! And yes, those teams choked under pressure just like the Pats did.

I disagree with you, but then again I'm not surprised by your responses, since we all know how much you hate/dislike the NE sports teams.
