    Re: The Simpsons Movie

I don't think some of those in our (full) theater understood some of the more subtle jokes and references to some world events, because me and a couple I was with plus maybe a few others in the theater were the only ones who laughed at them.

I liked the religious group seeking drinking in a time of impending doom and the drunks seeking religion.

Also liked the "quiet" humor, such as "Dome Sweet Dome" turning into "Nome Sweet Nome" in Alaska.

Homer: We're proud of you, boy.

Bart: Thanks, Dad. But part of this D-minus belongs to God.

This movie was hilarious! I enjoyed every minute of it, and there were quite a few times when I was the only one laughing in the theatre too...some of the subtle humor was great. But my favorite part was probably "Grand Theft Walrus" - I was laughing uncontrollably.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

Well, I'll be seeing this on Saturday most likely...so we'll see. I still have my reservations despite the majority of reviews being positive. The negative ones I've read expressed my initial doubts...we'll see.

I just watched it today. Did you see that one guy (like probably 20-25 years old wearing a red shirt) who said something like:

    "YEAAHHHH! SIMPSSSSOONNS! Rock ONNNNNNN!"

    That was ****ing hilarious.

    Re: The Simpsons Movie

I saw the movie opening day with my son and I have to say that the first 45 minutes was non-stop, LOL funny. Far far better than I was expecting. I think it tailed off in the last 20 minutes when they really played out the storyline, but was still good. Overall, this movie was far better than I was expecting and deserves every dime it makes at the Box. The subtle humor and the easy to spot toilet humor .. all of it was very good.

Two thumbs up for this flick.

I thought the movie was the same as recent seasons, a load of crap, didn't think the jokes were all that funny, I really hated spider pig, how I hated that pig, Yet some of friends wouldn't shut up about him.

Albert Brooks was great, he made the movie watchable for me.

I'll be seeing it tonight after dinner...I'll weigh in after. I'm not going in with high expectations so maybe I'll be surprised.

edit: and yes, that pig thing has been annoying me as they keep showing it in every commercial for the movie...seems like one of those "jokes" that doesn't know when to die.

    Re: The Simpsons Movie

I saw it last night and left with the overall feeling of "meh." I laughed a couple times, but I just didn't really enjoy it all that much. I wouldn't see it again or get it on DVD. They seemed to rehash a lot of stuff that they've already done. For example Homer having that dream thing was like the time he ate the crazy peppers and had the dream with the coyote. It was alright I guessed...I wasn't that impressed though.

    Re: The Simpsons Movie

My kids and I absolutely loved it... I thought it took us back to quality from earlier seasons... I laughed my arse off a lot of times, as did my kids.... I would not pay for it a second time in a theater, but the only movie in recent times that I thought was worth THAT was 300
