I haven't done much in regards to persuing anything yet, other than contacting UALR to let them know I plan on using my GI bill to major in journalism with them.

But I am blogging about my Navy experience at my MySpace, and plan on blogging about sports after i'm done with that.

I also asked mission to get on board the writing team here.

I don't know how much either will help, if any, but if nothing else it'll be good practice.

I would love to be a sportswriter or sportscaster some day. I'm hoping to go to Syracuse and get a degree in broadcast journalism but I'll have to see what happens financially.
I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

I was thinking about going back to school and majoring in journalism, but then I realized I would still have to take math classes.

Just post a blog on myspace (most popular) or some place like that.Make an account that's for your sports blogs only, don't go adding anybody and everybody...just athletes (if it's actually the athlete and not a poser),GM's,coaches, and other sportwriters/sportscasters.

Also, write for this place and any other place you post.

Save all things you write to a disk so you can make copies to send out as your portfolio.

But remember,if you do get hired somehwere, don't expect to be covering big time teams like the Reds and Bengals. You'll probally be stuck working high school and small college games at first...and olympic-type garbage like curling.

Please send us the link to your blog. A lot of us could get interested in your writing and provide feedback or comments. Get you some interests. I plan on making a blog soon and hope to link you all to it as well.

The writing team sounds like a good spot for practice for sure. I may look into joining as well, but I want to make sure my skills are good enough for that even.

    Good idea BnGBleeder.

I am updated the opening thread with all the ideas listed so far. That way we have a place to see what we have all come up with so far.

Great thoughts here guys. It will help. You guys sound like you have had experience, how so?
I have experience, I own my own website that is frequented by some heads in the SuperSonics organization and I also have some columnists that are avid posters and read my work on the front page.

First, let me ask you: Would you be a beat writer writing about the Reds?

    You're what, 16?

You don't have experience no matter what you think.

I turn 18 next month And I am sure 3 years of English Lit. at Univ. Wash's Seattle campus doesn't hurt my cause. And 3 months on my current site, and 2 years previous on an NBA can't put a limp in my step.

So, take your negativity and rub it on you dick, Dry.
You think you know me just b/c I posted with you on NBAf, but you don't know a thing about me.

Did you get my PM, redsrbetter?
