Saw Steve Miller Band a few weeks back at Citi Field. It was sort of unintentionally hilarious.

I started on one side of the stage and wound up on the other thanks to mosh pits

I remember liking them when I saw then but the venue wasn't that good and it was with Finger Eleven and two smaller time bands, so it wasnt a huge show. I remember most of the bands that night were good, with (for me) Finger Eleven stealing the show by covering "The Wall"

Best performances I have seen live are either Sick Puppies, because their former front man was just amazing with the crowd, or Three Days Grace. The second time I saw them we were in an arena, and it was after Adam did a song with Apoclyptica, the drummer did a killer solo and the stage elevated with a spotlight on him... when the solo was over the light went back onto Adam who snuck his way to back of the crowd. The Apocalyptica song played and he sang that as he wandered through the crowd back to the stage.

Chevelle wasn't as established back then. It was right after Vena Sera came out.

In fact I think this was the first time I saw Chevelle as the feature act.

When I saw them there were four bands and they were the last two, Chevelle to close. Tickets were free, apparently the radio station couldnt five them away.I remember one of the bands had God in its name but not a clue who who they were any more. My sister really liked them, may be able to find out. Chevelle was always a niche band to me... could only listen to them when I wanted to. Certain moods, etc

Chevelle is my favorite alongside the Chili Peppers.

That "God" band didn't end in "smack" did It?

I doubt they'd be opening for Chevelle and Finger Eleven and not the other way around though lol

Assuming "five" was supposed to say "give" then apparently they could give them away lol

Right lol. The only reason I had tickets is because my sister will a contest for like a movie from the radio. When she went there, the tickets were literally sitting on the counter for anyone who may want them

Made me wish I lived close to a studio. Would just stop in randomly from time to time

You want to come to Detroit?

We actually have a pretty great music scene. Granted, somewhat hampered in winter months because of outdoor venues.

I almost went last year to Detroit (also for Chevelle) but it wound up not working with my schedule.

Metro Detroit has gotten so much worse as a whole over the past year, it is crazy. I went to the Tigers' game wednesday (like the only win in the past week) but I was not going down there alone. Not walking those streets at like midnight solo any more. Plus, all of downtown is under construction for two HUGE projects and it completely eliminated my normal path and where i park.

There is a music festival today, and another next weekend. My bank account wouldn't like me going
