    Very good point to make.
Everything works well (even light beer) when your drunk, and looking for a cheap drink at the bar.

why drink light beer? what's the point? if you're going to have a beer, have a beer...

if you're going to be 2nd rate, then drink an O'Doul's!

Light beer has an alcoholic content, O'Doul's does not.

Anyways, what grinds my gears are fans who suggest a team didn't "deserve" a victory just because it was an "ugly" victory.

Why the hell would I drink O'Doul's? It's fake beer.

Light beer, however shitty it may be, still has an alcoholic content.

And there is a point to it if it saves me money.

the 2nd comment was separate from the first, hence the break. It wasn't really meant to go along with the other stuff. I was just throwing it out there.

I just meant, have a real beer if you're going to have a beer. If you're concerned with calories (the only reason to have a light beer), then you probably shouldn't be having a beer in the first place.

edit: if money is a factor, then at least have PBR. that's like the cheapest alternative.

Re: The grinds my gears thread

If I was concerned about calories I wouldn't be drinking beer at all.

If you read my original post the $$$ is the point.

The cheapest beer at the 2 bars I frequent is a Bud Lite. Everything else is a bit more pricey.

Yeah, I'm only saving a quarter per beer, but as I also said in the original post, I'm already drunk by the time I start going to the light beer.

When I'm drunk I don't give a shit what you give me as long as it has an alcoholic content.

ahhh, the bar is the problem. it's much cheaper for you to buy a sixer or 12-pack at the liquor store. pre-game at home and then go to the bar to save some money.

    Agreed.

I don't go to the bar often, but every so often a bunch of friends want to hang out there so I'll go.

I'll go to it maybe once a month at most, so "frequent" was probably not the right term.

In fact, I don't think I've been there in almost two months. I do most my drinking at home or at a friend's house.

What grinds my gears? Losing a 20-inning game 2 - 1 on an Ozzie Smith solo homer....Ozzie Smith!!! He of 28 career homer fame. Pathetic...

Yup...the first Ken Griffey, Jr. game for SNES. I started a season with the Braves. We're less than 30 games in (26 I believe). Gregg Jeffries and Jeff Blauser each hit solo homers in the first inning. Then nothing until the top of the 20th inning until that Ozzie Smith homer off Steve "Bedrock" Bedrosian. Glavine went 14 innings, Mercker went 4 innings, and Bedrock went 2. They used all of their pitchers. Their closer was dead as he had to go to 4 innings or something.

On the plus side McGriff has 13 homers and 44 RBIs already.
