As long as the Rangers continue to have 4 solid starting pitchers and Otsuka continues to close out game I see no reason why it couldn't last. If Millwood can pitch like I know he can we'll be in good shape.

    I agree.

    2005 NL West
    San Diego-.506 PCT
    Arizona-.475 PCT
    San Francisco-.463 PCT
    Los Angeles-.438 PCT
    Colorado-.414 PCT

    2006 AL West
    Texas-.520 PCT
    Oakland-.460 PCT
    Seattle-.423 PCT
    Los Angeles-.420 CPT

So far, with the exception of Texas, last year's NL West was actually slightly better than this year's AL West. At least that's the case 50 games into this season.

This might be a division where 85-86 wins can get you into first place.

On another note, whats going on with Tex? He seems to be struggling with power this year.

He is definately struggling in terms of power. I watched a little bit of the game last night on ESPN and they talked about that. I can't remember exactly what they said but some little something has been off on his swing. Hopefully Jaramillo can get him straightened out when he comes back this week.

Wow! He did pitch a great game. Totally shut down the Mariner offense, if any even exists. lol
Now a 4 game lead over Oakland in the AL West.

With 2 homeruns in his last 5 games maybe Tex is breaking out of his slump. I think it was something like 17 straight homerless games before he hit the first of the 2.

Don't worry...Harden will be back this weekend or early next week. Witasick is on his way back this weekend to help the pen. Bradley should be back next week...you should be scared that the A's are only 4 back with all the injuries and inconsistent playing...this team was left for dead last year on May 30th as well at 15 games below .500...this year they're only 5 under and 4 out

Maybe so but the Ranger rotation is a whole lot better than it was last year too. I doubt they will be able to beat the A's but they will at least make a very good show of it.

the Rangers' pitching needs to show that it can take the July and August heat of Arlington because the last couple years the Rangers are in 1st or 2nd before the break and then fall apart after the ASG or shortly after.
