With a 3-2 win over the Angels, the Rangers are now back in first.
Kam Loe pitched a solid game for Texas allowing 2 runs on 8 hits over 7 innings to win his 3rd game of the year. Coco Cordero struck out the side in the 8th and Otsuka pitched a scoreless 9th for his 6th save.

Texas trailed 2-1 in the 7th until Brad Wilkerson tied the game with his 8th homerun of the year. Later in the inning Michael Young singled in the winning run to cap a 3 for 3 performance.

Coco Cordero blew it again. A 2-run homerun from Michael Young in the 7th gave Texas a 6-5 lead but Cordero gave it up in the 8th allowing 2 runs to give the Angels an 7-6 lead which would be the final score.

Game Note: Michael Young's homerun was only his 2nd of the season after combining for 46 homeruns total in 2004 and 2005.

In today's finale against the Angels, Brad Wilkerson hit homerun number 9 and Mark DeRosa hit his 3rd, both driving in 2 runs. It wasn't enough though as the Angels got to Ranger starter Robinson Tejeda early for 5 runs in 3.1 innings, and Texas dropped the final game of the series 8-5 to the Angels.

Game Note: Texas is currently 23-23 and holding a half game lead over the A's in the AL West race.

Despite the Rangers trailing 7-6 in the 7th so far in today's game, Ian Kinsler is having a very good return of the DL. Kinsler is currently 2 for 3 with his 2nd homerun of the year after not playing a game since April 11th. Kinsler went back-to-back with Rod Barajas who hit a 2-out grand slam.

Now a big question might be what does this mean for Mark DeRosa who was hitting .338 with 12 doubles coming into today's game.

Yeah, sure. Don't give credit where credit is due.
All it took was the threat of losing his starting job to get Nevin to hit again, and he does it with a game winning homerun.

Ian Kinsler had a great return from the DL going 3 for 4 with his first career multi-homer game. Kinsler is now batting .520 with 3 homeruns in his 9 game MLB career, and the Rangers have pushed their lead to 2 games over the A's.

hey, I said good comeback...you guys hit the ball and your bullpen did what Millwood couldn't do. But you can't tell me that you think Macha was right to leave Halsey in that long and that bullpen did its job...

in the 2nd half of the game Macha made a bad decision or two and the bullpen didn't do their job while the Rangers pen shut us down and they hit the mistakes.

well, after last night's win you guys are by 3 games...you face a red hot Zito and his 0.80 ERA for the month tonight...if we win the next 2 games, it'll be like the series never happened...it would end how it started (1 game lead for the Rangers).

Zito is hot right now but in 2 starts against the Rangers so far this year he has given up 10 runs on 12 hits in 13 innings. If it wasn't for Texas Zito would have something like a 2.06 ERA this season. He also walked 6 in his last start so if he has control issues again then Texas should be able to get something off of him.

On the flip side, in 2 starts against Oakland Kam Loe has allowed just 4 runs on 11 hits in 13 innings, and is coming off a start where he gave up just 2 runs over 7 innings.

    Should be an interesting game.

Blalock was just clutch last night thats what I love about him he gets it done in the clutch often. 2 outs 3 on there and he singles one just over the 2nd basemans head.

Hopefully Loe can pitch another beauty like his last start.

Unfortunatly it was not another beauty for Loe as he allowed all 6 Oakland runs. Zito walked 5 Ranger batters but Texas got nothing off of him except a 3-run homerun from Phil Nevin in a 6-3 loss.

Today Vicente Padilla will try to give the Rangers a series win and a 3 game lead in the AL West against Kirk Saarloos, who has pitched only once against Texas this year in relief.

Jason Botts with a 3-run homerun tonight. The game is now tied at 3 in the 6th inning. This is more what I expected out of last nights game.
