Maddon Gets Extension

According to the St. Petersburg Times, the Rays have agreed to terms on a three-year extension with manager Joe Maddon.
The new deal will be announced within the next few days. Maddon took the Rays to the World Series last season with a 97-65 overall record and has the club off to a 20-21 start this year.

You can file this under "no shit" but glad to see a man get what was coming to him. The Rays have struggled early but still are not out of any race. Maddon is one of the better managers in the game today and the Rays have a ton of talent.

I haven't see the financials, but they really don't matter as this was a move that was needed. It gives Maddon some security but not so much that he'll become complacent and just rest on what he has done. Great move.
