Biggest suprises on your team, thusfar

about 1/8th of the season in the books..

What are the biggest positive and negative suprises on your team, in the early part of this season?

    Baltimore's

Positive - Shane Victorino - Sharing HR lead in the AL, 6th in batting at .362, 2nd in OPS with a whopping 1.165, 9th in steals, 5th in RBI, and 1st in runs.... always a steady performer, but his HR ratings are now above his talent, and really performing in the #2 spot in Baltimore's potent lineup

Negative - Jason Stumm - Last year was amung the leaders in wins and ERA. This year 2-0, but with a horrid 6.38 ERA and 1.54 WHIP

    San Diego

Positive - Ron Davenport and Julio DePaula - Davenport is hitting .338 and has driven in 13 runs from the bottom of the order. DePaula has a 2.89 ERA and 2 of his 3 starts were outstanding.

Negative - Wilson Betemit - A .293 OBP out of the leadoff spot, he has never had an OBP lower than .353 for me.

    Houston Astros

Positive: 3B Ronald Guidi-The first sim of the year was amazing for this guy. 4HRs and 9 RBIs. One other guy I'd like to mention is SP Wes Obermueller. He finally got a win in his Houston career. In his career at Houston: 2-9.

Negative: C Javi Herrera-He's starting for the first time and hasn't been very impressive. A .154 AVG, 2 HR, and 3 RBIs. Maybe its just a slump in the month of April, but hopefully he'll bounce back.

I cant really say theres been anything positive from my team. Those that have done well I expected as much from.

Negative- Except for Snyder I expected so much more from my staff.

    Positives:

Jason Bartlett- Hes hitting .361 with 2 HRs, 6 RBIs, a league leading 11 doubles, and a 1.043 OPS.
Chris Kelly- Earned a starting spot, hitting .400 in spot duty.
Carlos Artilles- Sure hes only going 6 IPs per start, but he has a 3.13 ERA anda 1.09 WHIP, makes missing Brad Nelson a little less stressful.
Brad Lidge, Robert Amis, Trey Hodges, Ismael Valdes- if these 4 cant get the game to Nicolas who can?
Nick Johnson- the FA pickup is hitting over .300 with 5 HRs and 16 RBIs.

    Dissapointments:
John Lackey, Ben Sheets- They better pick it up or its going to be a long season.
Alfonso Soriano/Jose Lopez- I didnt spend 16 M for medicore hitting.
Miguel Cabrera- Lost his job to journey man Chris Kelly
Lastings Milledge- His Average has to pick up.
Yoel Hernandez and Jason Anderson- Very close to become mopup relivers.

Luke Allen, same case as Reyens since i put him into the no. 2 spot he's been hiting better
Brad Thomas and Travis Sellers and Yates have kept the bullpen from going to hell

    Dissapointments:
Brad Nelson, hitting a buck 61
    Joe Crede only hitting .209
Jorge Nunez can't field the freakin' ball worth **** at SS (4 errors in 1st sim alone)
McGowan starting the years 0-3 with a ERA of 5.79, now Dustin is 1-4 with a ERA of 3.74
Odalis Perez gettig injuried for 3 weeks, its not like he was helping my team win games anyway
David Martinez and Scott Beerer so far have been bad

Luckily we signed JD Drew as a back-up, because his 1.054 OPS has been a big plus since Kearns has been struggling.

    Horrible
Austin Kearns has a .486 OPS, and needs to improve if the Mets are going to win their first division title this year.

    Positives:

That we actually made it out of April pretty decent at 13-14. And hey, we swept Baltimore!!!!!

Sean Rodriguez: Just became a 4.5 star player OVERALL. Thank you OOTP Currently batting .304/4/14. Top 10 in OPS

Matt Cepicky: Glad I made that trade with DET. Currently batting .272/5/28. Top 10 in RBI

    Negatives:

The whole rotation, with the exception of Hudson

Furcal, tho it's not totally unexpected. He's getting kinda up there in age.
