    I believe as i stated all last season when the ridiculous notion came up about Eric Gagne being a better all-time closer then Mariano Rivera that he would prove to be the one-year wonder that he is. Hope you enjoy your plate of crow. You know who you are......

    No doubt that Rivera has had a great long term run, and is one of the best... I still prefer Eck, and he only started closing after he spent years as a starter... but I still acknowledge Rivera's long term mastery of the position

    As for Gagne... every player is going to hit some bumps.. his 2.70 ERA is not the greatest this year... but to be fair he has not been closing nearly as long as Rivera, though his blown saves per year are less while he has been a closer and his ERA has been just as dominant... if Gagne keeps his stuff up as a closer for 10 season, he could very well be rated better than Rivera

    His injury / (injuries) most likely a case of being caused by him being yet another bum that was juiced on steroids and now is showing the effects his first year off of them.......so yeah, i'll gloat....

    Gagne was never, is not, and more than likely never will be in the class of Mariano Rivera. How many playoffs, pennants, and WS rings has Gagne helped his team win. Geeeeessshhh, I forgot, it's the other players fault.
