Tigers And the last winless team in the Majors is...

...the Detroit Tigers. How's that Cabrera trade working out Tiger fans? Remember that one? The one that was supposed to put you over the top? The one that made it okay to send 2 of the top 5 prospects in all of baseball to Florida? I'll bet having Andrew Miller sounds nice right about now, considering your bullpen can't get an out to save their jobs right now. But Dontrelle Willis is just as good, right? You know, the guy that just put up a ND in a loss to Gavin Floyd (yes, that Gavin Floyd) yesterday? As a White Sox fan, seeing that bullpen makes me smile, not only because I know that even my team's at times anemic offense can put tons o' runs on the board against it, but because I know that's the type of bullpen that keeps a great offense sitting on their couches in October, because that's exactly what happened to my team in 2006.

Tigers fans should be ashamed. They lost to the Royals and White Sox, 2 basement teams last year.

I still think the Tigers are going to win this division and go far in the playoffs. They have a lot of added pressure on them having the biggest payroll increase in the majors over the past year and all the so called experts picking them to win it all or come close. These guys have great talent throughout the lineup and the rotation and will turn it around shortly.

I love it when you make rash judgments after 5 games too! And I forgot Miguel Cabrera was in their bullpen! You're a genius!!!! P.S. He's played FOUR ****ING GAMES

Please tell me that Yankee fan isn't talking smack. Isn't your FO drafting a contract for the six year old that just whacked six dingers on Wii Baseball?

    Five games? Five freaking games?

Lemme guess, you're still pissed after they beat you down a few years ago in the playoffs.

Yankee fan talking smack. That's just funny.

Dontrelle gave 'em just about what Andy Miller was doing last year, about five innings. Did Miller win his first start this year?

Didn't old Andy get crushed? I'm not sure but I'm thinking Willis wasn't good yet Andy was pathetic.

And how does having Andrew Miller sound good since the bullpen can't get anybody out. He was a starter last year. How does a guy who has a 10+ era sound better than a guy who has a 5+ era? Please make sense of this for me...or you just spouting off a line of crap.

Sure, it's fun to talk crap...but at least make sense when you talk it because if you don't, you just make yourself look bad.

They'll likely wake up and turn it around shortly. They are missing Granderson which isn't helping anything.

Re: And the last winless team in the Majors is...

Lemme expand on this, so people don't take me as a blithering Tigers sympathizer.

I live in Tiger country, so every day I hear just how great Verlander is. How Cabrera's fat ass is going to make people forget about A-Rod and how Zumaya's Guitar Hero playing ass will be the next Rivera.

    .
So I find it comical to see them start the way they have.

Tiger fans have become the 'new' Yankee fans. They're quick to rub it in about how good their team is.

They quickly forgot the decade plus that they sucked harder than a porn star.

We haven't. They're quick to dismiss it. They act as if they're owed respect, as if it's some kind of divine intervention that they no longer suck.

Hell, it might be. They were so bad that God must've had to answer their prayers. He probably got sick of all Tigers fans praying for ONE winning season.

The Tigers sucked so bad that when psychologists did word association with people between the ages of 18-30 and they said "Tigers", 92% of the time the word "suck" was most commonly replied.

Hopefully they continue their downwards slide (as my neighbors heads will spontaneously combust) and then we can talk about Cabrera being a bust and how we 'all told you so'.

Until then, I'll bide my time.

and hope Verlander gets crushed tonight

I think that's only natural for fans of a team who is suddenly good after years of suckage.

My example: THE FREAKING NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS. I realize this is a baseball forum, but it happens with every team in every sport. And it's really damn annoying. That's y i really do my best to be honest and analyitical whenever i talk about sports, no matter who i'm a fan of. cause i know other people just get pissed off if i brag for no reason

    Never said they did.

Yankee fan typically uses the, "oh yea, how many rings does your team have" defense.

I'm not saying you're typical Yankee fan, I'm just saying that I've had plenty of smackfests with Yankee fan.

And mission will probably remember some of my early day smackfests

No wonder why Browns fans have suddenly become so damn obnoxious.

Talk about needing a frigging muzzle.
