They deserved to have a batter hit after plunking Pierzynski twice, and any pitcher who hit a batter was going to get thrown out of the game. So why not let the rookie with the good fastball do it?
What i meant was a vet that was more established.

how much of a fine would he have gotten for plunking him? minimum salary for MLB player is 316k, thats almost 3 times as much as an avg doctor makes, i dont think money was an issue here

Another great example of why Ozzie got upset about this happened tonight. Sidney Ponson plunks two CONSECUTIVE hitters, and the White Sox get warned. Why the hell do the Sox get a warning? They're not allowed to retaliate for getting hit twice in one game? I'm just waiting for some guy to get drilled in the head with a fastball now. Maybe that'll stop teams from hitting Sox hitters.

...And not 10 minutes after I post this, Riske comes into the game, retires a couple of hitters, then plunks a batter. Welcome to the White Sox David Riske! Of course, he immediately gets ejected, and so does Ozzie Guillen, but it should be worth it. I don't think anyone will be hitting Sox hitters for a while now. At least not on purpose.

    I guess Riske listened.

Looks like he won't be going to AAA.

Tracey is young, and the Sox were able to acquire Riske, who is a better option than Tracey at this point. Tracey will be back up at some point this year or next, though.

I have no problem with teams gunning for the Sox, I just get pissed when these new bullshit rules don't allow the Sox to retaliate, or at least try to prevent them from doing so. I have a great deal of respect for Riske for what he did tonight, and I'm sure he earned a lot from his teammates as well.
