Well I voted Johjima but I have yet to see him produce in the MLB but given all his hype that was enough to make him the Mariners best offseason move.
"They asked me if I wanted the ball in Game 6, and I said yes. I'll always say yes. That's what I did with Jack McKeon. I told him, 'Let me see how I feel tomorrow.' I went out, did a long toss, came in and said, 'I'll pitch, I want it, I want to do it.' And it ended up working out." -Josh Beckett

Since I really no nothing of that Kohjima guy, I'll have to say signing Washburn. 4 years was a bit much for him but is usually a pretty solid starter and should add some needed depth to the Mariner rotation, assuming he can stay healthy.

And what is it with the Mariners and all these Japanese guys? First Kaz Sasaki, then Ichiro, now Kohjima? And acquiring Hasegawa in there somewhere too.

I voted for him, too. They needed a catcher. The Washburn deal would be OK if it were a 2 year contract with an option for a 3rd...but a 4 year deal seems a bit risky IMHO.

Going to say the catcher, who knows what he's going to do. Meche and Washboard are going to amount to nothing.

There is talent in Japan, and we are taking it.

Circular logic aside, Mr Mims, you have yet to provide a single credible reason why you are, in fact, hot.

Fortunately, they missed the Kaz Ishii memo.

I think the Washburn signing was better than the Johima signing for now.

Plus, the Japanese population is huge in Seattle, it is good for attendance and merchandise sales to have Ichiro and Johjima out there.
