Torrealba, Foppert for Winn

According to ESPN's Jayson Stark the Giants have acquired Randy Winn from the Mariners for Jesse Foppert and Yorvit Torrealba

Advantage, Mariners.

Either Sabean has realized that Foppert wasn't going to be his ace of the future or Sabean's lost his mind again.

Foppert doesn't have the ceiling he once had, but he's still worth way more than Winn IMO. Nice trade for the Mariners. I would of loved for the Reds to get Foppert, but I have wanted him for quite some time now.

Good job by the M's. Foppert looks to be a solid pitcher no doubt. Sounds like the Giants are really missing Bonds and were desperate for anothe LH bat.

Sorry about that Giants. I think that is one of the better deals for Winn out there. Probably better then what the Yanks would have offered.

I hate to see Yorvit go. But now that we have Matheny we dont need him. He is too good to not be starting .

Torrealba had one solid year and that was it. Now its time to bring Knoedler up who is the future catcher of the Giants. As for Foppert, he's hurt. No getting around it is that he is hurt and might not fully recover from his surgery two year ago. I don't know why we got Winn as we already have too many OFers. but as far as losing Foppert and Torrealba, its no big deal. Torrealba will get a chance to play in Seattle. Expect Sanchez and Grissom to be released.
