We all miss Jose Uribe but now we got the next worst thing:

Giants signed infielder Juan Uribe to a minor league contract and invited him to spring training.
Uribe will reportedly earn around $1 million if he makes the team. He averaged 20 homers per season from 2004-2007, but is no longer a strong defensive shortstop and the power comes with a hideous .295 career on-base percentage. In other words, a minor league deal and potential bench job is just about right despite Uribe being a regular for the Rockies and White Sox for the past eight years.
Uribe will most likely get some looks over at third base. His OBP is pathetic and you know it is when Pedro Feliz's was better. We'll see how this goes but I don't see him making the team. Another pick off the heap for the Giants.

In other news, Will Clark was named as a special assistant in the Giants front office. What does he do? Probably nothing but make appearances but it is good to have Will the Thrill back with the Giants. I personally want to see him in the dugout in some capacity.
