Giants Possible Interest In Nady, Swisher?

Yankees' bounty could aid Giants | SFGiants.com: News

Interesting read. If I had to choose, Nady would definitely be the guy. Sure he is only under contract for one year. Its better than being bogged down by Swisher's who is coming off a career low. Nady could play first for a year while Ishikawa gets more experience in AAA. Nady could most likely lead the Giants in HRs with his average of 21. Nady can also play better defense in the OF than Swisher. Giants could either re-sign him, trade him at the deadline if the Giants are out of it or keep him for the draft picks the following year. Giants should at least explore a way to get Nady. Having a guy like J.T. Snow as a special consultant to first baseman is definitely worth it. He has helped out Bowker, Aurilia, Ortmeier and others during the year and at Spring training. J.T. could definitely help Nady out at first.

Nady's played a little first base before too. I believe he played there once in a while in SD, and I think even a couple times with the Mets.

I have always liked Nady, what he brings to the table, it would be interesting to see if we can land him.

Nady is more familiar with the NL pitching, so he should not have much of an adjustment period. Swisher only sees it in spring training and inter-league action. Plus, Nady is a better player, IMO than Swisher.
