    Giants Giants Sweep the Padres...Again

Ok so the Giants only swept the Padres earlier this year in a two game series but it counts Giants have owned the Padres all year with a 10-4 record in a battle of the worst. The Giants do find themselves fighting with the Rockies for third place in the division while the Padres fight to not lose 100 games for the first time under their new management. Funny because PFF used to have a countdown till the Giants lost 100 games. Wonder what happened to that?

Everyone's sweeping the Padres this year. Is this really something to be excited about?

It is when you don't like certain fans of the Padres after years of bullshit

Getting swept by a team that was projected to lose 100 games is a complete disgrace.

Not much to talk about with the Padres. Most fans of crappy teams don't come out. Not a lot of Giants fans dying to talk either. I'm sure if I made tis post in the Padres forum, he would have something to say.

    Preseason projections are meaningless.

The Padres weren't projected to be this bad but they are.

This entire season has been a complete disgrace for the Padres.

This series doesn't stand out in any way from pretty much any other series in which they've had their asses handed to them.

Sure, they become meaningless when you're no longer feeling full of yourself.

They become meaningless when they're made.

You don't see me parading around everywhere labeling the Chargers Super Bowl champs, do you?

But you've already guaranteed that the Chargers will be divisional champs.

    True.

And, while the odds of anyone but the Chargers winning the AFC West are about the same as the odds of Craig Davis winning the MVP award, my (and everyone else's) prediction is just as meaningless.

We don't really know who will win what for sure until they actually play the games.

Getting back to the actual topic at hand, nobody projected the Padres to be this bad.

Getting swept by the Giants is pretty disgraceful, but so has the entire season.

Your original statement made it seem as though the Giants are a worse team than the Padres just because 5 months ago everyone thought that's how it'd play out.

The Padres are a worse team than the Giants right now. This isn't like some first place team in a pennant race getting swept by a cellar dweller.

To be quite frank, the results of the past three games came as no shock to me.

The Giants are a worse team than the Padres. They must have the worst infield of all time. Their manager, according to most, if not all, the NL West fans here, is a joke. How the hell they are not in last place is beyond me.

    Re: Giants Sweep the Padres...Again

Giants are worse on paper and Bochy is dreadful but I knew the Giants were going to play better than most expected and not lose 100 games. You just knew they were going to be bad but with good pitching, things can happen. If the Giants had a bullpen, they would be doing even better which is a scary thought.
