    Giants Sandoval, Ishikawa Impressing

Pablo Sandoval and Travis Ishikawa were called up on August 13th and have been making an impact ever since. Pablo Sandoval has been quite the pleasant surprise. He was having a damn good season in the minors and is currently hitting .429 at the big league level. He's 12-28 and only two RBI but this kid can hit. The Giants are even spreading his wings and started him at third last night. Today he started behind the plate calling another gem for Barry Zito and its the first time all season Zito has won back to back games. That's what impresses me.

Ishikawa has had some MLB experience before but is showing what he can do in limited time. Ishikawa was also having a good season in the minors and should have been called up way before he was with the way Bowker was playing. Ishikawa has just a .233 BA but also has two homeruns and 6 RBI in just nine games. He hit a great opposite field shot the other night whick shows he understands how to hit.

These two should be fun to watch for the rest of the year and I am still waiting for Schierholtz to come back. He will help the USA team try and win the bronze.

Travis Ishikawa has been so bad in SBSL.

Nah, but it's got to be fun to see these young guys get playing time, especially if they're successful.

With Ishikawa's two homeruns, he is just 10 homeruns shy of the tying the team lead

Wow. I remember when the Giants came in to NY, I went to a game and noticed that the HR leader was Rowand with 9, and the RBI leader was Molina with
like 51 or so. It's been that long with such little offensive results?

Yep. Rowand does have 34 doubles though and Molina now has 72 RBI. Giants haven't had a player hit over 30 homers since 2004 when Bonds hit 45. Giants haven't been to the playoffs since 2003. Giants need power and a lot of it. Rowand's power numbers are lagging due to a lackluster lineup.

They're also hurting because he doesn't play at the little league field sponsored by Citizen's Bank...

True but AT&T Park is a right handers park. If he had any type of protection, he would hit his 20+ HRs.

But he'll also probably never hit 35 or whatever he hit last year.

Sandoval contiues to rake as he went 2-4 with a RBI while playing third and first. He has five multi hit games and a eight game hitting streak in his short lived ML career. Ishikawa was pulled in the 4th inning with the bases loaded by Bochy the Retard. Only retards pull guys with power and RBI potential with the bases loaded and no outs in the 4th. Aurilia came in for Ishikawa and went 0-3 Ishikawa walked in hi only AB yesterday.
