    Giants Giants@Arizona 5/27-5-29

The Giants are coming off a day off after a tough series against the Marlins where the offense finally came to life. Too bad the Marlins took the series. Molina and Rowand are red hot and carrying this offense. The Giants will have their hands full with the West leading Diamondbacks who have a ten game lead over the Giants. If the Giants want to make a dent and prove something, now's the time.

Game One- Tim Lincecum (6-1, 2.17 ERA) vs Dan Haren (5-3, 3.39 ERA). The ace is on the mound and looking to stay sharp against a good team. Lincecum is looking to regain the title of strikeout leader after Volquez took it away from him. Lincecum is 1-0 with a 1.32 ERA lifetime against the DBacks. Haren gave up four runs in six and a third innings in his last start.

Game Two- Jonathan Sanchez (2-3, 4.39 ERA) vs Doug Davis (2-1, 2.70 ERA). Sanchez had a tough outing in his only start against the Dbacks this season. He went just five innings and managed to give up three runs. Sanchez has a 0-3 record against the Dbacks. Davis looked sharp in his first outing back from cancer going seven strong and giving up one run.

Game Three- Barry Zito (1-8, 5.65 ERA) vs Randy Johnson (4-1, 4.03 ERA). Zito is coming off his best start of the year going six and a third giving up just one run. Zito has a 3.12 ERA in his last three games but has lost twice already this year to the DBacks. Johnson is 7-8 lifetime against the Giants with a 3.42 ERA.

I can see the Giants winning one and possibly two of three but will go with just the one win. Bowker shouldn't be in the lineup against the two lefties and would like to see Ortmeier take that role at first with Aurilia going to third. Castillo plays good defense but kills the offense with his double play groundouts. Let's just hope Molina and Rowand keep it up and that the bullpen stops blowing games.

This is a huge series IMO, if the Giants want to contend at all this year, Giants have to either sweep or take 2 out of 3.

Giants are up 5-0 right now as Molina has stayed red hot. Molina is 2-3 with 3 RBI including a three run shot. Lewis is also 2-3 and Castillo hit his 4th HR of the year.

5-1 now after Lincecum walked a guy (should have been a strikeout) and he later scored on a diving play from Durham where the ball went off his throwing arm into RF.

Giants get runners on second and third with no outs and do not score. Vizquel, the veteran who knows what to do, can't get it done. Lincecum then falls short and Lewis strikes out. Terrible!

Rowand gets a RBI single to make it 6-1 in the 7th.

Walker comes in with two on and one out and gives up a RBI double in the 8th. 6-2 now. Walker has got to shut the door here.

Wilson gets them 1-2-3 and the Giants win 6-3. Lincecum is now 7-1 and thanks to Walker now has a 2.33 ERA. Durham went a game without striking out which is a pleasant surprise and even had a RBI. Molina stayed hot and Rowand stayed there with him. Molina is batting .329 and Rowand .331.

In the past series or two, the Giants have improved their runs-per-game from 3 to 4. One whole run...doesn't seem like much really but it could (and often does) mean the difference between a W and an L. Good job at getting to Haren too. He hasn't been very dominant but he could still get you with his sinker. Great win all-around.

Giants are currently leading 2-0 in the bottom of the third. A line-shot homer by Durham and a 2-out RBI single by Rowand put you guys ahead.

Dbacks walked the bases loaded for Rowand and it almost paid off. Davis knocked the DP ball down with his hand and everyone was safe and the run scored. 3-0 now.
