Giants Report: Zito to the Pen

I just saw on ESPN's bottom line that Buster Olney is reporting Zito will move to the Bullpen. Not exactly sure what I think about this, but I know he needs SOMETHING to light a fire under his ass.

That is awful expensive middle reliever. WOW!!! Is this guy injuries? Or did he just collect his $$$$$$$$$$$$$ and call it a career?

Yeah it's official...Zito's in the pen. Bochy's hoping that all Zito will miss will be one start, but we'll see. Hopefully he'll have some extra time to work on his mechanics or velocity or accuracy or better yet all three. In the meantime Misch will be in Zito's spot. Hopefully he can do Zito justice.

If he couldn't get any Reds players out, then something is definitely wrong.

Prediction: Zito gets an "injury", and gets sent down to the minors to be rebuilt a la Roy Halladay.

I saw that, it was a great article, I laughed the whole way through it, seeing as the complete and utter failure of these contracts. It made Carl Pavano look like an Evan Longoria-type steal

I did a lot of good things as a sim league GM.

Ah, give me something clever to say here.

I don't know what's worse, having a guy get paid a lot to actually pitch or a guy who never pitches getting paid a lot? At least Zito had a winning record when he signed

It's ridiculous how far he fell back to earth since his 2002 Cy Young season.

It is a shocker. I cant believe how far he has fallen and struggled since he signed his big contract.

Apparently, after less than a week and a grand total of 0 relief appearances, Barry Zito will be moving back to the rotation. ESPN is reporting that he will start later today, Wednesday Night, in Pittsburgh against the Pirates. Zito has been terrible thus far this year, and he had only a week to make the "necessary changes". I don't see this helping. If anything, he may be too cold, resulting in another possible poor outing. Best of luck to Zito, but I wouldn't count on anything to impressive from him if I were a SF Giants fan.
