Finally!! Giants win 3-2 in the 13th!!
Re-cap: Matt Cain should get to punch every single Giant that hits, we couldn't hit with RISP until the 13th, Molina saved our ass with a huge homer in the 9th, our bullpen did a good job, we are piss poor fundamentally, Bowker went 0-6 and Wilson scared the shit out of me!!!

Interesting stat on Cain. Dating back to last year, he's allowed two runs or fewer in seven of his last 10 starts and won none of them.

I do not like the lineup Bochy has tonight.

    Lewis-LF
    Velez-RF? ****!
    Bowker-1B
    Durham-2b
    Rowand-CF
    Aurilia-3B
    Burriss-SS
    Holm-C

I hate having Velez in RF with Winn out with a stiff neck. Put Bowker out there and have Ortmeier play first. I do like Castillo getting a break as his bat looked slow as the game went on last night. He grounded out twice to the pitcher last night. He needed a break after playing in every game.

    I would have gone with:
    Lewis
    Ortmeier
    Holm
    Rowand
    Durham
    Aurilia
    Bowker
    Burriss

Holm has shown he can hit and with Rowand behind him he would get better pitches. Ortmeier possesses speed so I would have him hitting second. Rowand has been swinging a hot bat so have him hit cleanup with Durham baking him up.

Lincecum has 5 K's in 2 1/3 IP so far

I hope it does! Giants now have won 4 of 5 from those Friars who are now in the basement! I will enjoy it while it lasts but that was a fun game to watch and proves my point that hits do not equal offense as the Giants were outhit 5-4

Lincecum wound up with 9 K's, Young with 10! Wow!

It proves the point that hits don't win ballgames, runs do.

Whether or not hits="offense" is a silly semantics debate.

Not really, offense is scoring. When people say the offense didn't show up, they didn't score runs or enough runs. Nobody says the offense showed up but didn't score runs.

That was one great game and Some great pitching by both sides. Tim is now 4-0 for the first month and looks like a #1 to me.

You're arguing the definition of "offense" here and what does and does not constitute "offense", ie the definition of the word.

    That's a semantics debate.

Semantics debates are silly...even if I do inadvertently get myself involved in them a lot.

The bottom line is, hits won't win you ballgames, runs do.

But you do need hits to get runs. (most of the time, anyways.)

Scoring runs=offense. Providing offense for your pitcher=scoring runs. Hits do lead to offense. I cannot find semantics in this "argument" but this forum is like Burger King bro, have it your way

Do we need a semantics debate on the definition of the words semantics and debate?

You're not going to wrap me into this, LTR.

    As I said, it's a semantics debate.

I couldn't care less about the definition of the word, only about the "bottom line" I posted.
