Marlins claimed outfielder Todd Linden off waivers from the Giants.
If he was going to get claimed, it makes sense that the Marlins were the ones to do it. Linden was hitting .182 in 55 at-bats for the Giants this season, and he's at .217/.288/.324 in 373 career at-bats in the majors. The 26-year-old has 25-homer power, but it's doubtful that he'll ever get on base at a decent rate. He may not last after Alejandro De Aza and Cody Ross return.
I wish Todd all the luck in the world. He is a good defender and has some pop in his bat. He just never hit well at the MLB level for the Giants so maybe he can get things going in Florida.
