    Giants@Pittsburgh

Giants lose 3-0 and their fifth straight. Just last week the Giants were in first and now a 5 game losing streak. Schmidt ptiched well enough to get the win but the Giants offense blew a big one. The Giants had the bases loaded and nobody out in both the 8th and 9th innings and failed to score. This is not going to get any team in the playoffs. Your ace throughs a good game and you fail to get anything with no outs and the bases loaded. And so far, Vinnie Chulk has been the upside to the Hillenabrand trade. He came in with the bases loaded and got out of the jam.

Giants lose their 6th straight and have lost four of those games by just one run. The offense continuers to struggle as does Wright. It should be anyday now that Alou wakes up and sees that Hennessey needs to be in this rotation. Giants are playing horribly and things need to stop today with Morris on the hill.

A pitcher's duel in Pittsburgh today as Morris and Duke battle it out. The Giants have had opportunites to score but have failed like most of the past week. Scoreless after six.

After a rain delay, Vinnie Chulk comes in to get a 1-2-3 inning. He has done well in his short time here. It remains scoreless after seven.

Linden homers to leadoff the 8th. It was Linden's first of the year.

Stanton pitches to one guy and gets him out in his debut. Whoo-hoo!

Beitez just blew a save by giving up a leadoff homer in the 9th! He was good for a stretch but has fallen back and is really having a bad week! The Giants pitched a good one til Beitez came in!!! Just do your job!!!

Two on and two out for Winn. He has struggled but needs tomcome up with a basehit to give them the lead. Bonds had a pinch-hit intentional walk.

Winn comes up short and Alou wasted Sweeney. And when they wasted Sweeney, they were trying to pinch hit for Alfonzo, one of our better hitters with men on.

A little rant here because I forgot to do it after it happened. In the 8th, Linden leadoff with a homer then Alfonzo got hit by a pitch. Then Alou pinch hit Vizcaino for Chulk but did not bunt him over. What were they thinking here? Vizcaino is not a good hitter but he can at least bunt it. A blown opportunity right there and it looks like it may cost them.

Giants blow another and lose their 7th straight! They did not lose any ground in the West but they sure did suck a fat one! A chnage is needed as they have been swept by two of the worst teams in the NL.
