    Padres Klesko playing through pain...

we'll probably see Adrian Gonzales starting sooner than we think based off what i'm reading here.

    http://sandiego.padres.mlb.com/NASAp...t=.jsp&c_id=sd

"It's something I have to deal with until I get it fixed at the end of the year," Klesko said on Friday night before the Padres hauled out the heavy lumber against the A's. "It's bone on bone. The AC joint's 65 to 70 percent damaged.
"It crunches and pops every time I move it. When it gets caught, it's going to cause me discomfort. But with the treatments we're doing to keep the inflammation out of the joint, we'll get through it. It feels pretty good right now, knock on wood.
"Hopefully, I can get through the year without any setbacks."

Leo I know you are a Klesko fan. Actually I am too but the last two seasons he just isn't up to his old self.

This scares the living shit outta me that we are going to have to watch him flailing around again and hoping against hope that every time he comes to the plate or a ball is hit his way he will perform.

"Hopefully, I can get through the year without any setbacks."
Its a loooooong year from April to October (and beyond).

actually, if you ask me, I think Adrian Gonzales should be starting in light of this news.

I was hoping for a comeback year, being a contract year and all, but if he's playing through pain I really don't see that.

This could be the best thing for us guys........getting that lump off the field is only going to help our team defense......and I'd wager that the combo of Gonzalez / Young could not only muster .248 18 HR's / 58 rbi ..... but could flat out do better........ I'll take better defense, and more offense by getting him off the field......

I just got back from Spring Training, and had a chance to watch Adrian Gonzalez play.......he's a very good defensive player from what I got to see..... I think if I remember correctly his bat was the big ? for him, but as we all know that will take time, and it's not as if he's filling big shoes or replacing huge #'s at 1st....

sorry Klesko you & your huge contract have been voted off the island......

Klesko probably won't be gone right off. I'd wager an entire paycheck Bochy still starts him as long as he's still physcially capable of playing.

That said, if there's anything to this, we could probably see him back on the DL shortly.

Can someone explain to me why he didn't have his knee scoped in Nov. ??? He'd be 100% by now........and if it's truly bone on bone, that's not new, thats an existing condition that he's been either hiding or trying to work around...... ugh !?!

My thoughts exactly.....except for the "explain to me" part as I really don't care anymore.....he's washed up......
