Super Speedy OF coming to SD ????

St. Petersburg Times: " And the player the Rays may have heard the most about last week was speedy outfielder Joey Gathright, who is apparently a hot topic with a number of teams, led by the Padres."

    I say make this happen.

    This youth movement excites me!

Gathright is fast and improving as a ballplayer. Plus he is cheap as hell.

Pads wouldn't have to give up much for Gathright as he is the possible odd man out in that Drays outfield. Crawford, Baldelli and Gomes if they want to play him in RF could work with Young waiting in the wings.

Gathright can run. That is all he can do. He does not get on base, nor does he hit for ANY power whatsoever.

If you think Willy Taveras is a valuable ballplayer, you probably think the same of Gathright.

Gathright wouldn't be expected to hit for power in Petco.......he'd be expected to be a gap hitter........doubles and triples machine......and that's exactly what he's projected to be........not a HR hitter..........plus we don't have any of those anyway.....lol
